About Me

My photo
I'm an artist, educator, militant anti-theist , and I write. I gamble on just about anything. And I like beer...but I love my wife. This blog contains observations from a funny old man who gets pissed off every once in a while.

CAPTAIN'S LOG - CUT 'N' SHOOT, TEXAS

Had a wonderful drive today. Listening to "The Kite Runner". What a great book.
How could you read this on a map and NOT stay there? - we drove out of our way for the thrill. Luckily there is a REAL Mexican restaurant and the best "store bought" tamales I have ever put in my mouth.
Last night the lady at the motel in Louisiana told us that we could buy legal marijuana and a pipe at the Texaco station right down the street. And now in Texas I drove through the small town of Sour Lake whose large sign boasts: Birthplace of Texaco. Coincidence? I think not.
On the way out of Louisiana we saw (with our own eyes) a Subway/Casino/truck stop combination.
I've learned something today. In Texas the two lane blacktops have a speed limit of 70 mph. Further, any posted speed limit is little more than a suggestion.
Got two more tags up. The one on the right below is on another palm tree, but you have to realize that in Florida there are A LOT of palm tress. I found that in most newer motel/hotel rooms there is not much wood to speak of (which I need for the screws). They have metal everything, except furniture and I don't want to do furniture because it so...temporary.
I know that some of the tags will be stolen by some kid with a screwdriver, but that's really not the point, is it? Just think, maybe one day you will drive up to a motel and find one of my little secrets. You may steal it if you want.
You might have to click this to enlarge...I laughed out loud at the sheer honesty.
I also like honesty in a woman...
Time is a great teacher, unfortunately it kills all its pupils.

Something I would like very much to see...

Home is where a person can poop for however long they desire.

Perhaps the most important lesson that I've learned is that you should never argue with an idiot. The people around you might not be able to tell the difference.

Words escape me...
My daughter just told me that she and her husband have gone into a hotel and after they have been given a price, they went back out to their car, log on the the hotel's WiFi and book the room through one of the discount sites. ABSO-FUCKING-LUTELY BRILLIANT!!!
You have no idea how badly I hate this company...

Those tight stretchy legging things are NOT pants...put some clothes on NOW!!!!

Now this is a RIDE!!! Not quite the mile high club...but what the hell.
TRUE: BBC News, Delhi: CONDOMS 'TOO BIG' FOR INDIAN MEN - A survey of more than 1,000 men in India has concluded that condoms made according to international sizes are too large for a majority of Indian men.
(OUCH!!!)
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
By the way, France, Belgium, and Holland are getting ready to ban the burka. I don't know what the latter two excuses are, but the French seem to think is violates their (France's) cultural sensitivity.
One of my very own...
And lastly, for two of my favorite people...Niceville, indeed! _________________________________________________

Agreed, "Time is the best teacher" and I'm sitting in a cool bathtub after a very warm Corona August day in Berlin Germany. The first thing I noticed was the exact resemblance we have to one another. I even have the exact shirt in my closet, but I cannot recall the rooms but the windows are definitely not European that I recall. Gary, my American friend from NC,IL,LA & Conway, TX which is only a Hens jump from ? & Shootem,TX. Gary sent me this link because I thought he wanted me to read about this area of TX because I spent two tours at Goodfellow, San Angelo and Im more of a West Texan and Coon Ass Native Tribe from of course Way South LA. I'll get Gary to help me make a travel logg when we ever get Corona behind us, as we are both freshly retired and searching the world for new wonders. Thanks for cooling me off, Chitrenegade "A Pupil of Time".
