Only 3 servicemen tried to protect civilians and stop the massacre, out of hundreds. When they tried to expose the massacre, they were disciplined and ostracized. Eventually, it all came out, and afterwards only 26 soldiers would be charged despite up to 200 involved in the incident. However, only 1 would get convicted of anything major and spend 3 and a half years in prison. That's right, for these horrific war crimes, virtually no one was punished."
