About Me

My photo
I'm an artist, educator, militant anti-theist , and I write. I gamble on just about anything. And I like beer...but I love my wife. This blog contains observations from a funny old man who gets pissed off every once in a while.

The fun thing about actually reading the bible is some passages literally say “Christians welcome immigrants into their homes” & “Don’t hoard wealth” and absolutely nothing  is said anything about “Kick your teenage son out of the house for being gay.”

PEOPLE DOING THINGS I WOULDN'T DARE

He thought he could enjoy an insurrection without the consequences.

^^A1^^

^^A2^^

Yeah, they are going to end up naked.

^^A3^^

Bill Paxton 1955-2017

I think his role in Aliens was his best.

If you don't like Aliens just remember that backward it spells Sneila which makes no sense. Just like your opinion.

But Paxton seemed to nail any role he was given.

^^A4^^

From all I've read, those Indonesians don't fuck around.

^^A5^^

That explains so very much.

^^A6^^

Ladies and gentlemen,

I present the dumbest human on the planet.

I've always wondered about the hazards of those antlers in the forest so I did some research.

^^A7^^

B-29 gunner loads his Colt Single Action Army revolver on a mission over Korea in August 1950

I'm a single-action pistol guy myself. It forces me to aim and not just spray.

^^A8^^

True Story: My brother - the professional bass fisherman - was trolling his Ranger Bass Boat around a spit of land and came upon a much bigger boat. A guy had the woman bent over the aft and when he saw my brother he stood straight up, but the woman reached back, placed her hands on his butt, and insisted that he continue.

^^A9^^

The more I see that the more I like it. Think of the calories burned.

^^A10^^

I think I know where he learned that move...

^^A11^^

I want you to think about the most thrilled you've ever been. It doesn't matter the accomplishment - sports, art, kissing your first girl, etc, etc.

I'm here to tell you that when your child does the same thing you are much more thrilled than when you did it yourself.

^^A12^^

^^A13^^

That last one reminds me of this sadist...

^^A14^^

Try to guess what could repulse her so much.

Not only her but all the bystanders...

It's fermented herring from Sweden.

I'm told you're supposed to open it in a pail of water to keep down the stench.

Did you notice the odd lone shoe on the table?

^^A15^^

Fuck teachers for saying that Wikipedia was untrustworthy because anyone can edit it, that's specifically why it IS trustworthy. Nobody can twist shit to an agenda without people noticing and fixing it. It's non-hierarchical decentralized knowledge sharing.

*If you want your meal without spit (or worse) I would suggest you take that advice.

PLACES I WILL NEVER VISIT

THAT WHICH IS ABANDONED

We have an unused bridge in my area that looks just like that. Fishermen have beaten down a path, however.

I know it would be expensive but I can't imagine places like this not being restored.

I would have thought it would have been completely stripped by salvagers.

All it needs is a blood-soaked clown...with a knife.

^^B 1-5^^

I don't care how conservative you are, but you must see that this shit has to be fixed. Why don't you people come up with a solution? Make an offer. I'll listen.

^^B6^^

But they have a population of ONE BILLION people.

I know what I am about to tell you is easily disbelieved but a year ago I predicted to my wife that when covid takes hold in India they will be fucked. I based this on them having an ancient health delivery system, an undereducated populous, and the fact that they are packed like sardines into cities.

^^B7^^

After Phoenix’s discovery, scientists supported by the Exobiology and Evolutionary Biology element of the NASA Astrobiology Program began studying how liquid droplets of water could possibly be stable on Mars. They theorized that a missing ingredient had to be present – salt. If the water was briny enough, it might provide the stability needed for it to remain liquid rather than immediately vaporizing.

I haven't been this excited since I first found out about the incredibly strange world of quicksand porn.

But then there's this...

Thinks that's an exaggeration? Read this...

Indonesia's Mount Sinabung volcano has sent a cloud of hot ash up to five kilometers into the air.

I've always been fascinated by the people who choose to live near hazards like this.

^^B9^^

I've sat on beaches and watched birds do that for hours.

People watching is also fun...sometimes.

^^B10^^

This house was so infested with roaches they burned it from the outside in.

I found that an excellent solution to the problem.

^^B11^^

Avtovo Station, St. Petersburg Metro, Russia

Have you noticed how Americans have been stripped of all scenes of aesthetics? We all just want it cheap and functional. Pity that.

^^B12^^

Rural Kentucky gets its first roundabout

Those are all two-way roads.

Why wouldn't they have to STAY RIGHT signs with arrows on the leading edge of the red lane dividers? It's not that the traffic circles are bad, it's a lack of preparation. Remember - don't design it to be understood, design it so it can't be misunderstood. Seriously.

Sometimes I think about going back to tell a teenager from the 70s that I can walk to the corner and legally buy pot brownies and then listen to any song in the world instantly for free and I'm still depressed and bored all the time.

THINGS THAT INTEREST ME

I've finished the "book" that will be mounted on the lid of the Bookshelf Toy Box.

It's a 1x sandwiched between two pieces of 1/4".

And now I age it to look like a well-used antique.

^^C0^^

During a trip to a 24-hour endurance race at Nurburgring in German, we paid to park in a farmer's field adjacent to the track. It was on a slight hill. We were going to sleep in the car the night before - nobody sleeps during the race. Well, my friend took the downhill seat and I took the uphill seat. He could lean against the door. I woke up 50 times after tumbling from my seat onto my friend.

In desperation, I looped my arm through the straps on the center post.

I woke up hours later with my arm so asleep I couldn't get it out of the strap and had to wake my buddy to assist.

Remember that extended warranty you laughed at?

Amazing Trees

^^C 3-8^^

I think that's called neutral buoyancy.

^^C9^^

Tiny bubbles, in my wine.

Make me feel happy,

make me feel fine.

^^C10^^

^^C11^^

^^C12^^

Forget the foreskin, what about the Ark of the Covenant? Hell, every single artifact has been mysteriously "lost". I can't stop thinking about the Jews who watched Moses bring down the tablets carved BY GOD himself, then Moses broke them, and not one person thought about collecting the pieces to prove that it actually happened. Not. One.

And you wonder why I'm skeptical?

^^C13^^

Swedish engineers invented a suit that can help Parkinson's disease and stroke patients eliminate tremors through electrical stimulation.

What must this future hold?

^^C14^^

Here's a joke only blind people will get.

Know what this is?

Mechanism of a Janney coupler (also know as American or knuckle). Think of the manpower that saved.

C21: that's odd. I rarely find one dead. We collect them by the hundreds by swimming out to the second sand bar, diving down and sifting the sand with our fingers. Sometimes at low tide the second sandbar is only waist deep. In those cases we just use our toes to find them.

B6 - have police officers pay their own insurance. Example
30k salary and it costs the city 10k a year to insure the officer then pay them 40k

Training reduces the premium. Bad behavior raises it. Good behavior is rewarded with lower rates. Still have the blue wall but you are responsible for your actions

Puzzle time:

Put equation 1 in terms of y
Y = 56 - 3x

Replace why an equation 2 with 56 - 3x and solve for x.
X+3(56-3x)=48
X=15

Plug 15 into x and equation number 1, and solve for y.
3*15+y=56
Y=11

Plug x = 15 and y = 11 into the third equation and solve for z.
15+11+2z=66
Z=20

Plug x = 15, y = 11, and z = 20 into the last equation.
30+11+20=61

Answer is 61
