Yesterday's Puzzle Time
READ ALL ABOUT IT
I asked a professor of pharmacy about keeping children from developing immunities by using hand sanitizers all the time. He said that as soon as the kid took off his shoes he had all the germs he could ever want.
I will admit that sometimes I think a shit ton of $8 shots, sleeves of tats, and a thousand-dollar phone sounds a little excessive for a person of limited means.
^^A3^^Speaking of...
An older woman who has had covid three times explained to me that she didn't have long to live so the cruises, eating out, concerts, ball games, etc, were her way of squeezing as much out of the time she had left as possible.
My roommate when I was stationed in Goose Bay, Labrador was what he called a "Jack Mormon". That's a Mormon who doesn't believe that silly dogma anymore. We talked a lot about how he and I both felt so relieved when we finally saw the light and accepted rationality as the proper path.
This was left in my comments:
"Ralph; just watched an episode of The First 48. It portrayed a double rape plus incest. During the program a character used the word "shit" and it was bleeped out. That makes sense doesn't it?"
---
The use of words that offends just part of the citizenry can get you fired from your job, kicked out of school, and otherwise shunned. And those words are not only just made up but change over time. It is so very arbitrary to be taken seriously. I say fuck that shit.
The smartest thing I ever did regarding feeding myself was to get a small fridge for my classroom. I kept all my sandwich makings in there and simply made my lunch every day.
ON A MORE SERIOUS NOTE

The Ukrainian news agency UNIAN confirmed the video's authenticity. UNIAN reportedly said the military members responsible for the shooting were barrier troops, which the Post described as units with the mission of preventing soldiers from running away from battle using lethal force if necessary. It's not clear if the retreating soldiers were killed or injured by the gunfire, but readers are advised that the video below is graphic. Russians shooting their own troops has a long tradition in Russian military history, and it has been commonplace throughout this war.
Yevgeny Prigozhin, the head of the Wagner Group, whose mercenaries have fought in Ukraine, has publicly threatened to execute deserters. In January, the Financial Times wrote that media accounts associated with Wagner had posted several videos showing Prigozhin promising to shoot any of his mercenaries who abandoned fighting against Ukraine's forces.
---
---I can imagine this scenario:
The head of Wagner was approaching Moscow and he gets a phone call from his brother telling him that the Putin agents had already cut off a finger and doused him with gasoline and will light the match if he doesn't stop immediately. Then his sister tells him the same thing. Then his nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts, and lastly his mistress.
---
Scenario #2:
Your coordinates at this very moment are...
There is a tactical nuke programmed with those coordinates and could strike that location in one and a half minutes. You and your army will be vaporized. Turn around immediately. Consider yourself exiled...forever.

People in the US are dying at higher rates than in other similar high-income countries, and that difference is only growing. In 2021, more than 892,000 of the 3,456,000 deaths the US experienced, or about 1 in 4, were "excess deaths." In 2019, that number was 483,000 deaths, or nearly 1 in 6. That represents an 84.9 percent increase in excess deaths in the US between 2019 and 2021. Excess deaths refer to the actual number of deaths that occur in a given year compared with expected deaths over that same time period based on prior years or, as in this study, in other countries.
I found this article very informative.
My wife was sent this by someone who thought I might like it...
I do like it.

I once read that all those people have money for a ticket but there simply is no room inside. It's a problem of lack of adequate infrastructure. Do any of you know if that's factual?
I would be interested in knowing the mortality rate for such excursions.
What do you think they did with all the debris they removed? Just throw it off the cliff?
It was the height of the Cold War and we wanted to remind those godless Commies that we Americans were going to live in heaven for eternity while they would suffer in a lake of lava for eternity.
More accurately it should have read: In God Some Of Us Trust.
This monstrosity is the Russian Tsar Tank, designed for combat in World War I:
I bet it never rolled a foot.
This is what Stephen Hawking's grave looks like:
It reads "Here lies what was mortal of Stephen Hawking."
A pair of sandals was found in the pharaoh Tutankhamun's tomb.
Flip-flops. Very fancy flip-flops but flip-flops just the same.
Golden Gate Bridge
When they first opened it, they let pedestrians cross from both sides a one time. It was assumed that this mass of humanity would stay in their lanes like vehicular traffic. They did not. In the middle, the two great masses of humanity collided and...stopped. The static weight caused the bridge to sag an alarming 6".
This is the dish rag that Robert E. Lee used to surrender the Confederate army to the Union during the Civil War:
I'm interested in knowing if there is any defeated army whose descendants still honor them like Southerners honor the Confederacy. Wouldn't it be the same as some Americans still waving the British flag?
The little bastard looks like he's blushing cause he got caught.
My wife finally cleaned out the kitchen junk drawer.

What about a married one?
This is how big a human is compared to a wind turbine:
And this is how big a tornado is compared to a wind turbine:
Did you know that many Americans take their old flags to the American Legion to be destroyed in a solemn ceremony?
I'm not really sure what going on there but it reminds me of the fountain in Bitburg, Germany. Once a year they pumped beer from the brewery out through the fountain.
They sold large earthenware mugs (that I still have) for 25¢ and you could refill it as much as you desired. My friends and I would fill the mug and then immediately get in the back of the line for a refill. Needless to say, we got shitfaced.
---
I loved that fountain so much that I had a picture of it on my cell wall when I was in prison.

A woman left a comment that I was a Communist and ugly. I did a little digging and found out that she works at the spa an hour from my house so I made an appointment and asked for her specifically. Guess who is going to be bleaching my butthole next week.
They let just anyone make babies but you must have a license to fish.
HUMAN MENAGERIE
How do you suspend all contact with reality like that?
I watched a large woman fall down a flight of stairs twice that long and they were wooden instead of carpeted and she didn't spill her drink.
I find her attitude refreshing. She could have gotten angry, but why? We need more people like that in our lives.
Okay, I have a theory. She forgot her shoes and had to borrow someone else's.
Speaking of...
That reminds me of when my brother, sister, and I were growing up we only had one shoe...and we had to share it.

Why can't it possibly be "Luck Be In The Air Tonight"?

Bees or hornets/wasps.
A12; Regarding swearing...most modern swear words relate to sexual functions or humman waste. In medieval times they were nearly all related to Christ's suffering on the Cross EG-"Gadzooks"="God's hooks" — as in the nails that kept Jesus on the cross. "Zounds"referred to "God's wounds".
Nothing is really insulting except malicious intent, is it? And that can be conveyed even without words...
Re Trup. Of course Hillary avoided all trouble by destroying over 20,000 e-mails. No prosecutions there you notice.

Here's another theory - drugs

Dear Mike,
If she broke the law then I say throw the bitch in jail. Trump had four years to do just that and did not.

Puzzle time: most people would say because the "I" is already been used.
But this could have been a bonus round puzzle, where letters just appear at random.
Not sure that " luck be in the air tonight " is even a real saying. I've heard of luck be a lady tonight.
But if you look closely, the "k" in luck is not the right font for wheel of Fortune.
Dear Puzzle Person,
Thank you so much. I love people like you. What a great observation. Bravo, my friend.

C3 - I would have kicked that dog across the yard. If that were a cat, you would have done the same thing. Biased much?
Dear C3 Anon,
That observation was not about the dog. It was about the lovely lady. Don't be so fucking negative.

B16:
The Cub scouts and boy scouts retire American flags all the time. They usually do it at campouts and there is a ceremony where they are burned over a campfire..
Dear B16 Anon,
I did not know that. When I was old enough to join Boy Scouts I was too busy committing felonies.
Thanks for the info.

That mormon thing is real. When I was younger I had an interest in a Mormon girl and her family invited me to their "Temple" and when I was trying to leave after their service they kept interrupting me trying to leave lol, like open ended questions and stuff.
