Look on the bright side. With all the snow, you won’t have to dye the Easter eggs, and leaving them white will be a bitch to find.
“David A. Noebel saw contemporary popular music as a Soviet plot to brainwash American youth. Unlike other religious critics of popular music, he backed up his analysis with references outside the Bible, using scholarly footnotes and quotations. His work was influential and widely adopted by later critics of rock music.”

I'd like for cannibalism to be given leniency in murders, since it's less wasteful.
Dear Ladies,
Did it ever occur to you that you might have to run from an attacker one of these days?
Just wondering.

If I could remember which artist said it, this would probably be much more interesting, but some artist once said that he got blown away by watching the swirls of oil on a puddle of water. I submit that using that as inspiration is just as valid as a vase or a landscape.
Read this description today:
Nikon D4S boasts 409,600 ISO
With an ISO rating so high you may need a Neutral Density filter with the lens cap still on, the new Nikon D4S can take photographs of yesterday. From their promotional material: "up to ISO 25,600 (expandable to a mind-boggling ISO 409,600 equivalent at Hi4)" I don't know when I'd need this?
What is ISO?
ISO is the acronym for Intense Sunlight Orientation and it measures just how little sunlight, or light, the camera needs to take a photo. The higher the ISO the less light needed. So with an ISO of 409,600 means that it can be 409,600 times darker than high noon in Greenwich during the Vernal equinox and still take a photo of a bunny.
During sex I like to make my wife say, "We're going to make big trouble for Moose and Squirrel," in Natasha's Russian accent from Rocky and Bullwinkle.

Neat shot of two Nimitz-class nuclear aircraft supercarriers—the USS George H.W. Bush and USS Harry S. Truman—cruising together in the Arabian Sea. I still find amazing that ten of these giant monsters roam the seas.
On the left, a ship in a heavy storm as seen from the deck, going through giant waves. On the right, a ship in a heavy storm seen from a level deep inside, going through the same stress forces. I really don't know which perspective is scarier

Most of you people have probably already seen it, but I live in a large town or small city...whatever. I got gas at a different gas station than usual and it had a monitor sized screen to give you instructions, then when your gas was being pumped, it switched to CNN News to help you through the boredom.
The multiverse is one of the most divisive topics in physics, and it just became more so. The major announcement last week of evidence for primordial ripples in spacetime has bolstered a cosmological theory called inflation, and with it, some say, the idea that our universe is one of many universes floating like bubbles in a glass of champagne. Critics of the multiverse hypothesis claim that the idea is untestable—barely even science. But with evidence for inflation theory building up, the multiverse debate is coming to a head.
(I will most likely be long gone when they prove this, but when they do just remember I believed it since I was 14 years old.)

In the ACLU's new paper U.S. Government Watchlisting: Unfair Process and Devastating Consequences [PDF], the group describes strange world of terrorist watchlists, including no-fly lists, where it's nearly impossible to discover if you're on a list, and nearly impossible to find out why you're on a list, and nearly impossible to get removed from a list. As the ACLU points out, this is Orwell by way of Kafka, where we're not allowed to know what surveillance is taking place or why surveillance is taking place -- and we're not allowed to know why we're not allowed to know.

My uncle served in the Navy and he tells a story about moving in choppy waters. The farther your bedroom was away from the pivot point of the ship, the more you felt the waves. Sleeping in the far fore or aft of the ship was a special challenge. The pitch was VERY noticeable.
Here's the video for that "local vandal" gif, watch it if you have some free time: http://youtu.be/Q-Ch8MeH5BI
These are some guys from Switzerland (who would've thought) who took graffiti to a whole new level by steering away from just writing their names (that You hate so much) and instead painting - well, You will see it!
Yes, it is illegal, sometimes obscene, and labeled as vandalism by the majority but it's also a proof that not all graffiti writers are the same... And I would rather watch some unusual and creative "damage" rolling in the train station while I wait for the boring daily commute, than the sterile clean trains or in worst case scenario, some corporate advertisements...
Watched the film and liked it.
Reminded me of my mantra: Rules are not made to be broken...rules are made to break you.
I loved the breaking the rules part of the film. Wonder why most of the messages are in English, though.
I agree with the corporate advertising loathing.
Read a news release from my office that celebrates our ‘Women and Girls in Transportation Initiative’ that finds jobs in the field because, well…they’re female. I’m used to blatant favoritism, not based on skill or experience, but due to sex, race, etc. What got me was that this is administered by the OSDBU (Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization). Yeah, I’ve never heard of it too but we’re all paying for it.
Oh, I feel strongly that the first step in equality is to end all favoritism toward all groups. Unfortunately, our government fully supports and celebrates inequality.
JR, don't whinge about blatant favouritism when you benefitted from it your whole life. Find out about the male privileges that exist now. Sexism is so entrenched in society that it seems normal. Now you think women are getting a better deal but it is only equalisation.
Your going to feel angry about this but dig deeper.
Find out what's really going on. Then make a more informed decision.
We all need feminism.
