When you hear that a rock "rolled" down a hill, do you picture a giant coin shaped piece of stone? Of course not, but nobody said myths had to make sense.

My wife and I heard two loud pops in the middle of the night. I told her that they sounded more like the boom of fireworks instead of the crack of gunfire. Boy was I wrong.
The lady next door was away and asked the neighbor who lived over her back fence to keep an eye on her property...and boy, did he ever.
He noticed flashlights moving inside her house and after grabbing his own flashlight, crawled over the fence and was immediately fired on by the robbers. That was about thirty feet from my bedroom window.
The next morning my wife said they had a description of the perp. I said, Don't tell me. Young, black, skinny wearing a hoodie. She asked how I knew. Well, I read the fucking newspaper and it's ALWAYS a skinny black guy (crackhead) wearing a hoodie (to minimize camera ID).
Am I a racist? I just went with the data I have acquired from decades of living in my neighborhood.

I've seen this a thousand times.
Those milk bottles were delivered right to your door. They were kept cool on the truck with ice. The "stopper" in the top was cardboard with a little pop-up tab to assist in full removal. Well, many times the stopper would get damp and the little pop-up would rip off. A knife should be used to pry the stopper off, but most people were in a hurry and just tried to push the stopped down into the bottle. That worked well unless the bottle was filled to the very top, then it exploded as above.

I used to teach outside often. Even small children like a break from tradition sit down and shut up.
One of the lessons was to show how when something is farther away it gets higher on the picture plane. You almost have to go outside for that. For example:
Most, if not all children, draw houses sitting on the very bottom of the paper. I let them all do that then asked them to add a swimming pool. Then I told them that they had left out the whole earth...the dirt. Then by raising the bottom of the house a couple of inches, there was room for pools, sidewalks, etc.
