Think that's farfetched? Dig this...
More evidence that the world is irredeemably insane:
The star of a Ukrainian TV show who pretended to be the actual president who solved all the country's problems was elected to the ACTUAL presidency with a 73% landslide.

Launching research rockets through Aurora Borealis
Several sounding rockets were launched from the Andoya Space Center in Norway as part of NASA's 'AZURE' program to study Aurora Borealis, Solar wind and the ionosphere.

MILITARY MATTERS

I actually knew a guy who flew a helicopter for the National Guard and back then that was the equivalent of being a doctor at the VA...competence not required. Anyway, I asked him about how he figured out how to navigate from one city to another and he said he just followed the highways. That looks like this pilot is doing the same because of the fog.
And...
Welcome to annual Thailand military draft.

^^16^^
MOVIES
I never remembered that this guy was in Dune...

And this movie was about the first visitors to the moon finding a Union Jack already there.

This tea house was built around 1502.
That is only 10 years after my whole damn continent was "discovered."^^19^^
Said to be a "Tree Mansion."

But somebody else said it was used in a movie. I just thought it a pretty cool structure...or it was in its heyday.

Brothel timers with strike tips. The candle burns down you pay the lady, put on your pants, and leave.

This was called a chess set for poor people.
But I think the ace and the ten should be reversed. The pointed ace looks like the bishop...
And the number ten and its stack of suit indicators look more like a castle.
^^24^^
This intrigued me so much I ran it through Google image search but came up empty.
Could somebody help me out? If you email me or leave it in the comments section, be sure to use the item number 25.^^25^^

Come to find out, the whale shark was caught illegally and the culprits ran off abandoning it on the pier. Authorities are attempting to save it.

Speaking of poachers...

This pod of beluga whales took in a lonely narwhal into its group.
Then there is the human in the wrong neighborhood...

I think it is stuck.
