Puzzle time: Take the two diagonal pencils at the top and lay them horizontally end-to-end across the vertical pencils, bisecting all four vertical pencils.
Puzzle: move the 2 angled "roof" pencils and lay them across the center of the vertical pencils to create 8 1x1 squares and 3 2x2 squares.
puzzle time:
move the diagonal pencils and insert them as a straight line parallel between the other horizontal pencils, basically bisecting the vertical pencils. It will result in 8 small squares, and 3 large squares.
