I feel the need to explain the images titled "One of my very own" that I try to include in each of my posts and before that in my daily emails.
I am a professionally trained artist who spent six years studying most of the images I choose to...alter. What I add to these images is dictated by the images themselves. I would like to discuss two examples to let you know how my mind works and how I let the images speak to me.
Look at the image to the left. His hand gesture indicated to me that he wanted her to stay away.
The look on her face suggested that she was drunk. I've seen it many times, especially when my cooler was the last with any beer in it. Drunks use phrases like "own and only" AND they hiccup a lot. When you look at it that way, I had no choice in the matter.
Then there was this image. When I think about someone raising another person from the dead, this is what I think about. It's almost like teasing the poor bastard with a few more years...never assuring him that the disease that killed him won't keep him in pain until the NEXT time it wins and he dies...this time for real. I find stuff like that hilarious.
Additionally, today's One of My Own screamed for the caption I gave it.

As soon as I saw this I knew it was special...
Then I found out it is carved into the wall....BEAUTIFUL!
