About Me

My photo
I'm an artist, educator, militant anti-theist , and I write. I gamble on just about anything. And I like beer...but I love my wife. This blog contains observations from a funny old man who gets pissed off every once in a while.

LET'S LEARN SOMETHING

Notice that as the telephone poles recede into the distance, not only do they appear shorter, but they get closer together...
Getting them the right height is relatively easy, but how do you get the spacing of the poles correct?
First draw the first pole...
Then draw lines from the top and bottom of the pole to the vanishing point.
Then find the half way point of the pole and draw a line from there to the vanishing point...
The second pole is placed more or less arbitrarily...what "looks right"....
Then you draw a line from the top of the first pole, through the mid-point of the second pole, and where that line joins the bottom line, that is where the third pole is located...

Then you continue this to the horizon...
