About Me

My photo
I'm an artist, educator, militant anti-theist , and I write. I gamble on just about anything. And I like beer...but I love my wife. This blog contains observations from a funny old man who gets pissed off every once in a while.

WEDNESDAY #2310

One Of My Very Own...

WARNING! I am taking my computer in for repair tomorrow and I don't know when the hell I'll get it back. I have posts in the can until next Monday, and if they suddenly stop after that, understand that the touchpad HAD to be fixed.

Marvin Gaye, shot and killed by his father 31 years ago.
One of my favorite songs by Mr. Gaye...

Gary Dahl who in 1975 invented the Pet Rock died last week at age 78.

Tattooing Pigs by Wim Delvoye.
People think up all kinds of ways to make money...
There is a guy who tattoos pigs mostly with religious imagery...
What kind of man would do such a thing?
This kind of man...
But how does he make money from such a thing?
How rude.
Speaking of religious tattoos...

This man spent six hours getting a tattoo of Jesus before running off without paying...
How rude.
I'll let this next image speak for itself.

You know what the world needs. The world needs a device very similar to a flight simulator for social events. Think about that a minute.

This is some rubble in the Gaza Strip. Notice that the door is missing...
Why would any buy a door in rubble? Because the door was graced with a Banksy and is worth tens of thousands of dollars.
The story goes that the property owner had no idea who Banksy was, sold his door for just a few dollars to some one who knew exactly who he was. How rude.
Here are some new Banksy's that I've not seen before. It was stated this one was vandalized, and I'm assuming it's the darker paint at the bottom that looks thrown...
I still haven't gotten my head around the notion that "vandalism" can be vandalized. I will let the next ones speak for themselves...
I find it interesting that the last two are addressing grafitti...real grafitti. Do you think he is praising it or condemning it?
Banksy is getting very rich from gallery sales...
I hope it doesn't take his edge off.

Huge ship run aground for dismantling...
What an extrordinary photo.

Fun prank: brand your wife with the mark of the beast so she becomes a mindless demon slave wandering the earth killing in the name of Satan.

In the 1700s, a woman named Mary Toft in England tricked doctors into thinking she could give birth to rabbits. Sometime later she admitted that she shoved rabbits into her vagina before 'birthing' them.

"Hold my apple juice."

The Lawsuitinator 5000™

If you put a pot aside draped in plastic, it will dry to "leather hard," which means it is dry enough to be handled and won't lose it's shape, but still moist enough that it can be carved into or trimmed...

For an "adult" bookstore, most of them have a LOT of picture books.

For the past eight years, astronomers have been scratching their heads over a series of strange radio signals emanating from somewhere in the cosmos.

HILO, Hawaii (AP) -- Protesters blocked a road this week as part of a push to prevent construction of a giant telescope near the top of a mountain held sacred by Native Hawaiians.

No one shows their true character more than when they are retrieving their bags from baggage claim

A repost that still made me smile...

Prop money. $9 for a stack that looks like $10,000 worth of 100 dollar bills.
I wonder how many people will assume my money art is made of fake money?

Beach in Nice, France
Speaking of beach stones...
The artist explained that making them is a form of meditation. I have no reason to doubt her.
More art with dots...

More advice to friends who have sent me examples of their drawing skills. This is another way to add a little drama to your drawings...

When someone says "I need this done yesterday" it's like I'm not going to be bossed around by someone who doesn't understand how time works

This clip was on several sites I visit regularly...
That makes it look like the standing guy is incompetent, but this next angle shows that the guy on the floor moved the block away frrom the ax head...
And now, days later, I ran into the final clip of that event.
"Nah, I'm good. Go for it."

Words of Widsom...
