I'll ignore the part where he calls me either a sucker or an aging hippie and let NASA explain it to him. I'm assuming Mike doesn't think NASA is also involved in a worldwide conspiracy by a bunch of PhDs looking for funding.

But I'm certain that won't sway Mike. Mike lives by the old adage that if he believes something then it must be true. Mike is probably an anti-vaxxer and flat-earther since rejecting proven science seems to fit the mold.
Mike, I don't have time to research every article ever written about climate change, but you know who does have the time to read all the articles? My Ph.D. daughter who is building her third satellite to study the very subject. I'm pretty sure she hasn't been making up data and lying to me for thirty fucking years, Mike.

Giant houses on tiny lots. Practically no backyard. No gardens. No trees. No views. Every window 3 feet from the fence. Nowhere for birds or pets or children to play. Expensive as hell and twice as ugly.

And I will bet a dollar to a donut that that community has a committee that makes rules for everyone else. No originality here. No artwork. It is mandatory that your house not stand out in any way. I would go insane living in such a place. 

If I could travel back in time I would find that first guy who thought it would be a good idea to cut all the plants on his property at the same length and talk him out of it.

You know how great it is to talk a walk in the forest? Well, to have one surrounding your home all...you...have...to...do...is...nothing.
