As you should know by now, some gifs are too large to upload. I think that was one of those. What I mean is, I know I've seen it before, but I can't remember if I posted it. That happens to me often.

They had no idea that the object was one of the long-lost Lewis Chessmen - which could now fetch £1m at auction. The chessmen were found on the Isle of Lewis in 1831 but the whereabouts of five pieces have remained a mystery. The Edinburgh family's grandfather, an antique dealer, had bought the chess piece for £5 in 1964. He had no idea of the significance of the 8.8cm piece (3.5in), made from walrus ivory, which he passed down to his family. They have looked after it for 55 years without realizing its importance, before taking it to Sotheby's auction house in London.

Just another reminder to never, ever piss off anyone you've asked to bring you food. All those rumors of what they do to the food of rude customers are absolutely factual.

I watched a documentary in which these words were uttered: "For three-quarters of the 20th-century information was shared with paper letters sent by mail."
Yeah, that makes me feel old.

ON CAPITALISM

Here is a recent comment left here on Folio Olio:
"Most of your environmental concerns have been lessened, always by capitalism. You lazily accept the Leftist narrative, because you are an aging hippie and as such you are intellectually bone idle."
I don't feel compelled to argue the reality of global warming with anyone. It would be like arguing herd immunity with an anti-vaxxer or navigation with a flat-earther. None of these people will ever change their minds no matter what.

When I showed my wife that guy's comment, she said, "He's probably just a troll because nobody could be that stupid."
I tend to agree. So please, Mr. Commenter, hold your babble for other bloggers. I've had enough. And remember, I didn't form my opinions because I read some articles. I formed my opinions after countless conversations with my brilliant daughter who is a Ph.D. Astrophysicist who has been researching climate change for decades and I doubt seriously that she would lie to me. Seriously, when was the last time you talked to an Astrophysicists about climate change or any other topic?
Goodbye, sir, I wish you the very best.

Looks like a Kestrel Sparrowhawk. Eggs are the right color. Or Common Kestrel. Falco tinnunculus.
