About Me

My photo
I'm an artist, educator, militant anti-theist , and I write. I gamble on just about anything. And I like beer...but I love my wife. This blog contains observations from a funny old man who gets pissed off every once in a while.

FUN WITH LANGUAGE

It's called marriage and you learn to live with it.

^^A3^^

I have no idea what that means but it's just absurd enough to get my interest.

OBJECTS OF INTEREST

Said to be too slow for a meteor.

If a satellite it might have been the Shenzhou-11 Module expected to re-enter that week.

^^B2^^

I have done something very similar but I made art objects.

New Horizons Studio will bring together Hyundai's expertise in vehicles, robotics, and intelligent mobility to push the boundaries of vehicular engineering to "reimagine how vehicles might traverse the world." And that world definitely isn't limited to mere road, track, and level trail, but also applies to "unconventional and off-road terrain, including places where vehicles have never roamed before."

Meet the stonefish, the world’s most venomous fish.

Stonefish are found in rocky or muddy bottoms of marine habitats in the Indo-Pacific region. They have excellent camouflage—their bodies are textured to resemble the surrounding rocks or coral.

If you step on the Stonefish the 13 spines lining its back release venom under pressure. Stings result in terrible pain, swelling, necrosis (tissue death), and even death.

Her left leg measures 53.255 in, while her right leg measures 52.874 in.

She has the longest legs for a female and the longest legs for a teenager.

Although she was self-conscience when she first grew, she now embraces her height and uses social media to inspire others to accept their bodies through regular posts portraying confidence and positive body image.

PLACES I WILL NEVER VISIT

The World’s Tallest Hedge Is a Breathtaking Sight to Behold

Planted in 1745, the Meikleour Beech Hedge now lies alongside the A93 Perth-Blairgowrie Road and can be viewed all year round. It is recognized by the Guinness Book of Records as the highest hedge in the world and is most impressive to behold during spring, when the young green leaves reflect the light, as well as in Fall when the trees turn russet and gold.

^^D1^^

I've always left little doodads in the forests I visited. That one deserves reverence.
^^D2^^

It's October and Siberia still isn't freezing over.

^^D3^^

But instead, they get a 20 billion dollar border wall that falls over in a wind.

^^D4^^

Whitehaven Beach Australia

It kind of looks like quicksand but it's actually rather normal.
^^D5^^

Open-air market at -45°C (-49°F) where fish and meat remain naturally frozen (Yakutsk, Russia)

^^D6^^

A snowball fight filmed by cinema pioneers the Lumiere brothers in France, 1896.  It's been colorized and had the speed adjusted.

Everyone just decided simultaneously "Fuck that guy riding his bike." Then he gets so befuddled he goes off in the direction from whence he came.

^^D7^^

All due to seven hydraulic cylinders.

This is a rather old image that shows many errors.
And here's a new one.
Have fun.
