PONDERABLES
I have always found that these three sentences in this order work every time:
I did it.
I'm sorry I did it.
And I won't do it again.
With those sentiments, you have effectively taken away all the ammunition of the person you have wronged.
"Well-regulated Militia" my ass.
Remember, I you don't openly condemn them then you are offering tacit approval.
Indeed.
American Medic Killed by Russian Missile
In a disturbing new video released on Monday, a Russian military unit is shown attacking aid workers in Bakhmut on February 2, despite the red cross markings on their vehicles. Pete Reed, 33, a former marine, and volunteer medic was killed during this attack while tending to a wounded civilian. A frame-by-frame analysis of a video taken at the location — and shared with The New York Times — shows that Mr. Reed, who was unarmed, died in a targeted strike by a guided missile. Russia is perpetrating genocide against the people in Ukraine. Ask your government to supply Ukraine with more weapons: long-range and jet artillery and heavy weapons to repel Russian aggression.
This explains so much.
I never say "I'm going to bed", I always say, " I must attend to my evening affairs" only because it irritates my wife.
Whoever named frogs got it 100% right.
Those things are frogs.
SUNDAY SILLINESS
Rule 63 is an Internet meme that states that, as a rule, "for every given male character, there is a female version of that character" and vice versa.
Could that be real?
That must happen often in the wild where there is no human to save them.
I knew a guy who found out that building a building with a shed roof required no permit so all of his outbuildings had a shed roof.
There's full documentation about this on Youtube called "Congo: Jungle Messengers".

That's how they eliminated bathroom breaks.
I've talked several times about the stupidity of standing around gawking at looming disasters.
Train derailment in East Ohio led to the burning of tons of toxic Vinyl Chloride and people just stood there.
I would have been in the next county within minutes of seeing the smoke.
I bet he owned that truck.
The kid yelled "Call 911" before he even starts wrecking. He realized it was going to happen and there wasn't a damn thing he could do about it.
*OSIT
I found this in an image collection about people in hazardous situations.
But I've done the same damn thing a thousand times. The man is using what I call "Ladder Jacks" and it just so happens I'm putting mine out on the street today.
With the use of triangulating hooks and adjustments, the jacks can hang either on the inside or the outside of the ladder. In the picture above the man has his jacks over the ladder - meaning he has to climb over the wallboard. He solved this problem by using a third (orange) ladder. I always hung mine under the ladders so I could step off on the wallboard from the ladders holding the jacks.
That is from some sort of movie, but notice how no two bodies are the same. There must be a person in charge to make sure they don't all look like they are just a bunch of people laying around on the asphalt.
The Roman Cornu
A horn was used for signaling troop movements and announcing the presence of the emperor in military and civilian settings. Each legion had 36 cornu players and other trumpet and horn players. Imagine the noise!
I'm not sure I understand that.
The artist is Victor Navlet and the painting is called “General View of Paris from a hot-air balloon” (1855)
Taiwan search and rescue teams were sent off from Istanbul Airport with the applause of all passengers and employees at the port.
Do they have to do that at every road crossing? And if so, do they do it after every snowfall?
I still say it's worth it.
Dudes always want a goth girlfriend but put zero effort into their Gomez game.
We humans are very lucky that almost all fire burns in the visible light spectrum otherwise we would be fucked.
B&W PHOTOGRAPHY
I culled another OOMVO file and noticed that many of the images manage to capture an emotion that I found interesting. I hope you enjoy it.
Something is going on with the feet that I don't understand.
