About Me

My photo
I'm an artist, educator, militant anti-theist , and I write. I gamble on just about anything. And I like beer...but I love my wife. This blog contains observations from a funny old man who gets pissed off every once in a while.

DYING IS EASY

ANIMAL DANGER

^^A5^^

I think it's either gathering limbs to build a nest or testing a nest site to see if it's strong enough.

Well, the clamps hold very well.
^^A15^^

My father once pulled off an interstate, got gas, and when he tried to leave that happened. Had it happened at 70 mph who knows if he would have survived.

SELF IMPOSED DANGER

^^A17^^

^^A19^^

If that happened on private property I would let it dry and fill the holes with black grout.

You would think at least one of the spectators would have noticed the stuff running down his neck and onto the collar.

DEPRESSION CAN BE LETHAL

Here the story:

Three years and two months ago today I almost committed suicide after having lost my job and my relationship which was following quickly by losing all of my friends. My family was a big mess. I felt very alone and all I wanted was to end my pain. The promise I have made to myself for a decade beforehand was to travel and see the beauty of the world away from people before I die. This trip through the Pacific Northwest for two months saved my life. I’m in a better place in life despite not having much to lose. Every day is still a struggle, but moments like this reminds me that life is bigger than people and relationship and work and money.

Perhaps someday soon I will go back out to reconnect with nature.

Here are photos of the trip that saved their life.

And in case you were wondering, he met a friend along the way and the friend took that photo.
And that segment was the perfect segue to the next section.

Of all the things I learned in grade school trying to avoid cooties was the last one that I expected to use later in life.

A Canyon in Iceland

Rainbow Mountains,  Peru
Please forgive any reposts.

Devil's Tower
That was on my road trip to-see list but it was too far to get there. Pity that.
^^B5^^

I mentioned months ago that all landscapes should be hung so that the horizons are at eye level. It appears as if those two landscapes obeys that suggestion.
^^B6^^

It was described as a hunting cabin.
