About Me

My photo
I'm an artist, educator, militant anti-theist , and I write. I gamble on just about anything. And I like beer...but I love my wife. This blog contains observations from a funny old man who gets pissed off every once in a while.

TUESDAY #4367

 One Of My Very Own

<>

I'm rather disappointed in the response to my pleadings for predictions. Surely you guys can send me one thing you think will or will not happen in Biden's first year. I need you.

CAUGHT ON CAMERA

I'm a big fan of quality photography, but this collection contains much more than the art pics like this one.

^^A2^^

Belarusian shepherd Alexey Usikov, 33, drives a horse-drawn carriage equipped with a battery, headlights, and small potbelly stove, which he crafted out of an old Audi-80, in the village of Knyazhytsy, Belarus.

People carry a statue depicting Jesus Christ back inside after Priest Don Amedeo Basile led a Via Crucis (Way of the Cross) procession during Good Friday celebrations on the rooftop of the Maria S.S. Addolorata church.

That reminds me of this...
^^A12^^

This is such a wonderful idea.

Bridge for wildlife to cross the road.

The road cleaning service is a tiny bit too thorough.

WOULD YOU LOOK AT THAT

Spoiler Alert!

I had no idea that was a thing.

Cave Pearls in Carlsbad Cavern, New Mexico

A cave pearl is a small, usually spherical, speleothem (cave formation) found in limestone caves. Cave pearls are formed by a concretion of calcium salts that form concentric layers around a nucleus. Exposure to moving water polishes the surface of cave pearls, making them glossy; if exposed to the air, cave pearls can degrade and appear rough.

WTF?
^^B11^^

I'm surprised that there aren't visible cords for the motor warmers.
^^B12^^

^^B13^^

Idle cigarettes now go out within seconds - preventing countless fires, but when it became apparent that they did that a rumor began that they added arsenic to the paper. The truth, of course, was that they didn't add anything. They removed the crystals that kept them burning.
^^B14^^

Just before going into a hallucinogenic trance, Indigenous Californians who had gathered in a cave likely looked up toward the rocky ceiling, where a pinwheel and big-eyed moth were painted in red.

^^B15^^

^^B16^^

I once told a class of children that I put the ashes of my dog in the hole where I planted a tree. Then I asked what kind of tree they thought I planted. The answer was Dogwood but one little girl said, "An ash?" I said no, but I promise to plant ash in the next one.
^^B17^^

Locals removed it but now...

This most photogenic fellow has Lymphoma

Lymphoma is cancer that begins in infection-fighting cells of the immune system, called lymphocytes. These cells are in the lymph nodes, spleen, thymus, bone marrow, and other parts of the body. When you have lymphoma, lymphocytes change and grow out of control.

STAY AWAY FROM THE LIGHT!!

We used tacks like that when I was in elementary school and one time the pointed part broke off of one leaving only the disc part. My best friend, Harry, was fucking around with it and got it stuck in his ear. The harder he tried to get it out the deeper it became lodged - so much so that they had to take him to the doctor's office to get it out.
When he got back everyone gathered around him to hear all the details of his ordeal and while demonstrating he GOT IT STUCK IN HIS EAR AGAIN!!

SOME OBSERVATIONS

OUR COLLECTIVE HEALTH IS IN YOUR HANDS

You really need to hear this Canadian politician

<>

Misinformation about covid, but really this chart could apply to a wide variety of topics

I have a good friend who is the most conservative person I have ever met. I once asked him if any conservative decision had ever been proven wrong. And he said, "No."
So I asked if his political stance was infallible and he replied, "Yes."
I knew then that he was beyond mere logic.
Now conservatism has morphed into a single "conservative" man who is deemed infallible. To many people, Trump is their messiah and has done and can do no wrong. That is fucking dangerous.
I voted for the younger Bush and raked him over the coals for the WMD fiasco in Iraq. I voted for Clinton and thought he should have been kicked out of the office for perjury. I was irked that Obama's healthcare plan forced people to buy insurance even if they didn't want it.
But Trump is on a whole other level. He doesn't seem to be able to tell the truth. His adherents ignore his claim that the pandemic was a hoax even after he was caught on tape admitting he knew the severity.
Oh, why list his transgressions? You all know them all.
All I ask is that you think for yourself. Layout the evidence and make a judgment with the fact that you know.

Puzzle:..
Ok, if you swivel the top block 180 degrees on its vertical axis, you get the block in figure D. If you then rotate the block one quarter turn counter clockwise, you get the figure on the bottom.
Similarly, if you swivel the right block 180 degrees on its vertical axis, you get the block in figure B. If you then rotate the block one quarter turn counter clockwise, you get the block in figure C.
I'm sure there are better ways to do this puzzle, but my SWAG in figure C.

The blocks on the left are the initials of the directions of the compass - N, E, S. That leaves W which is represented by the block labeled B on the right. Thought I'd posted that before.
