About Me

My photo
I'm an artist, educator, militant anti-theist , and I write. I gamble on just about anything. And I like beer...but I love my wife. This blog contains observations from a funny old man who gets pissed off every once in a while.

Think George Floyd.

I'm the scowling old man on the left.

Until the 1850s British condiment sets came with bottles for oil and vinegar, and three spice containers for salt, pepper, and...nobody knows. Potentially mustard, but it's just a guess because no one ever wrote it down.

PONDERABLES

^^A1^^

Let's assume he is not referring to all Republicans but rather the Nazis and White Supremacists.

^^A2^^

Thanks, Democrats...

Fuck you, Republicans. That one little trick may have cost them a bunch of mid-term elections.

^^A3^^

"The largest criminal investigation in American history."

Over 400 Defendants. Serious Federal Charges; 5, 10, 20 YEARS

Jan 6th will live on forever.

The Far Rightwing tried to overthrow the government.

FACT.

^^A5^^

Folio Olio in a nutshell.

^^A6^^

People thinking that their opinion is superior to scientific research are costing thousands of lives.

^^A7^^

And we can thank the people who continued to act like nothing was happening.

^^A8^^

When you cross 70 you spend less and less time looking in the mirror.

^^A9^^

I don't want anything revolutionary. I want to go back to the good old days with tax brackets that ensured the ultra-rich paid their fair share...like 1960.

^^A10^^

That depends on where you live.

^^A11^^

Simple Act of Respect and Kindness

I would surely do that.

^^A12^^

But would he do the same for the bum on the park bench?

^^A13^^

^^A14^^

Astoundingly, the new General Insurance TV ads are exclusively about how awful the last advertising campaign was...and it was awful.

Yesterday my wife went jogging and 4 different people stopped what they were doing to cheer her on. That's how hard my wife makes jogging look.

OBJECTS OF INTEREST

Japanese Awaji Onions

In America they would do that with vials of insulin...and televise it.

^^B1^^

In middle school, we were made to come up with a signature in cursive. I wish I had known printing was an option. I print very, very well.

^^B2^^

Remember that scene where this actor ran barefoot down the street? Well...

^^B3^^

See anything...odd?

^^B4^^

Washington Heights Library

My painting with the book titles didn't pan out. Now I plan to make a toy box with the "books" mounted sort of like this.

^^B5^^

Meanwhile, in Australia...

All the browns you see are spiders trying to escape the floodwater.

^^B6^^

^^B6^^

Look closely.

^^B7^^

Expending energy just to make strangers smile - a noble gesture.

^^B8^^

^^B9^^

^^B10^^

^^B11^^

^^B12^^

^^B13^^

Fuck the CCP.

^^B14^^

Do you have a cat? Now wonder how many times it has done this exact same thing.

^^B15^^

My wife on our honeymoon.

^^B16^^

It amazes me how tech can show us hell right from the front seat.

This is the work of Bjorn Stein-grade Geldingadal Reykjanes.

Watch it fly through the lava in slow motion...

^^B17^^

Nothing tastes as good as homegrown. This year I want to grow my own tomatoes.

^^B18^^

Another staythefuckathome activity for your consideration...

^^B19^^

^^B20^^

Right when I thought I couldn't be shocked by anything on the internet...

Sweet angel of death please take me now.

^^B21^^

I'll never understand people who get in the fast lane to drive the speed limit. This lane is for crime!

HUMAN ACTIVITY

Who plays basketball in suspenders and boots?

Those zany Amish.

^^C1^^

A real pro...

^^C2^^

That leaves me speechless.

^^C3^^

You go, girl!

^^C4^^

The Son Doong Cave, the largest known cave in the world.

But who would want to share the moment with boatloads of tourists?

^^C5^^

They teach paper making in art schools. I never took a class but remember that paper can be made from thousands of different fibers.

^^C6^^

^^C7^^

Joaquin Phoenix's reaction to Signs

Reverse actually works pretty well too...

^^C8^^

^^C9^^

And...

At the beginning of this post you mentioned that the Covid vaccine is free. Well, they claimed it against my insurance, and I pay $10,000 a year for that.
