I almost put that in the dark humor file, but suffice to say I think it is very clever.

PLACES I WILL NEVER VISIT
The Man With The Midas Touch
I knew a man who was hunting in a forest where he noticed many old-growth pecan trees. He offered to buy the land and after purchase cleared all but the pecan trees and went into the nut business...and did very well.
This same man found out that his huge front yard was made up of the perfect clay-rich soil perfect for roadbeds. He sold the soil to the highway department resulting in a beautiful manmade lake large enough for water skiing.

Believe it or not, one of the comments left on that site stated that the food was awful. I didn't need that information.
The Loneliest Monk in Tibet Lives Alone in This Isolated Temple
Located on top of a small mound, on a sliver of land stretching into the serene Yamdrok Lake is Rituo Temple, the home of just one solitary monk who spends his days chanting sutras and meditating. Rituo, which means “the stone on the mountain” in Tibetan, is often referred to as Tibet’s loneliest temple. It has a history that goes back more than 700 years, but it’s considered one of the country’s hidden gems, as few tourists venture out to visit it. That’s because it’s located in the middle of nowhere, on a thin patch of land stretching into Yamdrok, one of the three holy lakes of Tibet. But the few people who did visit it, tell stories about the peace and quiet that most of us only dream of, and about the surreal experience of taking in the amazing natural scenery from atop the solitary rock mound.

A Bolivian lake that was once an oasis of natural beauty full of thriving wildlife has become a waterless basin full of plastic waste.
"Lake Uru Uru in western Bolivia is covered in mountains of rubbish including plastic bottles and other man-made garbage for as far as the eye can see. The piles of rubbish are believed to have come from the nearby city of Oruro via the Roso Canal, where residents dump their waste. The lake's water is tinged black and brown because heavy metals such as cadmium, zinc, and arsenic have leached from nearby mines into the reservoir.

This huge submarine bursting through the streets of Milan was actually an art installation in pre-Covid days.
The boulder that trapped Aron Ralston's wrist
I remember being very impressed by Tom Brokaw's two-hour television documentary about Aron Ralston back in 2005, and somewhat disappointed by the subsequent 127 Hours movie. It is certainly a remarkable cautionary tale, worth sharing with any of your friends/family who doesn't share with others their plans for hiking or travel.

My friend, Zach, did something similar in 1974.
In 1962, San Francisco adman Howard Gossage came up with the idea of putting the faces of classical composers on sweatshirts and selling them for $4.
Consumers could choose between Beethoven, Bach, or Brahms. He quickly sold around 60,000 of them. If you want one of these sweatshirts today (at least, an original one), you'll have to pay significantly more. On eBay, the asking price ranges from $1500 all the way up to $9000.

I always wonder how many half-sunk boats there are in the oceans. A hazard if there ever was one.
I posted this a couple of weeks ago and wondered what was going on.
Well, they now have collapsible traffic cones.
I was going to guess a bottomless bag was placed over an open manhole where someone was passing the up.
Anifa?
Brilliant.
The crinkle crankle wall economizes on bricks, despite its sinuous configuration, because it can be made just one brick thin. If a wall this thin were to be made in a straight line, without buttresses, it would easily topple over. The alternate convex and concave curves in the wall provide stability and help it to resist lateral forces.
Thomas Jefferson (1743–1826) incorporated so-called serpentine walls into the architecture of the University of Virginia, which he founded.

Don't use a brush in cabinets. Use a hot dog roller that will even get in all the corners quickly and easily.
The hot dog roller was first used to paint behind radiators.
