About Me

My photo
I'm an artist, educator, militant anti-theist , and I write. I gamble on just about anything. And I like beer...but I love my wife. This blog contains observations from a funny old man who gets pissed off every once in a while.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT

Especially the children.

So, I say, "In the richest country on Earth, no American child should go to bed hungry." And there are those who by their actions indicate that they think children should, in fact, go to bed hungry.

I say, "No American family should be forced into bankruptcy because one of them gets cancer" and the entire Republican Party says, "Fuck 'em."

ON HEALTHCARE

---
Read that a-fucking-gain!
---

My wife owned three stores and she paid half of each employee's health insurance. We just considered it the American thing to do.

In my opinion, the money your company puts in for your healthcare is YOUR MONEY and it should be added to your paycheck if there were healthcare for all.

Here's an example:

Then there's this opinion:

*Judging by the number of LGBTs among people I know, there's WAYYYY too little gay stuff in media. I demand MORE homosexuality!

TODAY'S WRITTEN SILLINESS

^^A8^^

Seriously thinking...

Young people have realized that they risk their life to covid just by going to work and many of them are understandably hesitant - especially for minimum wage.

*And he wouldn't have drunk it.

Porn used to be so hard to find that we had to settle for the lingerie section of the Sears catalog. Nowadays kids can use their phones wherever they are and simply log onto Sears.com.

RANDOM BLOG FODDER

^^C1^^

That could go very wrong.

^^C2^^

I made a painting "machine" one time. I hung a canvas with various clips to create what looked like a mountain range. Then I poured paint and let gravity assist in the resulting river of paint.

When I was young the concrete highways had thick rubber gaskets between slabs to accommodate swelling in the heat. These joints made an extremely irritating noise at highway speed. And I remember reading that an engineer discovered that the joints weren't necessary because if the highway needed to expand it could expand sideways.

But the image above seems to disprove the engineer's findings.

I came home drunk one night and was smart enough to sit on the stairs and take it one butt lift at a time. The next morning I learned my mother had been sitting on the couch watching the whole thing.

They're called road trains, mate.

Some roads in some states regularly allowing up to 4 trailers at 53.5 metres (175 ft 6 in) long and 136 tonnes (134 long tons; 150 short tons).

In a socialist society there would only be one good hospital, and it would treat the upper class. There would be hardly any products for sale in the shops. Wake up! It's all clearly on record.

Ralph Henry said...

Dear Mike, Since you didn't include an item number I can only assume you are referring to my call for universal healthcare. If that is in fact what you are warning me about then one must look only as far as Canada to see if your dire warnings have any merit. You are pulling a 2+2=37 logic that simply tries to equate catching up with the rest of the world as far as healthcare goes and changing our whole form of government. That dog don't hunt now just like it didn't hunt when Medicare was supposed to have done the same thing.
So, Mike, let me ask you: Do you think any American should be forced into bankruptcy because their daughter gets cancer? And if you have an ounce of sympathy for such people, then what exactly is to be done about it?
