About Me

My photo
I'm an artist, educator, militant anti-theist , and I write. I gamble on just about anything. And I like beer...but I love my wife. This blog contains observations from a funny old man who gets pissed off every once in a while.

THOUGHTS ON A NATIONAL TRAGEDY

The rest of the civilized world solved the problem of children being murdered in their classrooms a long time ago.

And here's the price they are more than willing to pay to keep their children alive.

Last night I dialed over to Fox News to hear what they had to say. I didn't hear Carlson say this...

But I did hear Ingraham say this.

I think that the ONLY country where this regularly happens needs to be shamed.

---

Today the governor of Texas brought up that Chicago, NY, and California had strong gun laws and they had plenty of murders.

I think we can separate gangbangers going at one another and a teenager walking into a school with a weapon of war.

^^A1^^

And it was caught on camera.

^^A2^^

I've never understood the allure of extra-long fingernails but I'm a guy so…

^^A3^^

I know a young woman who gets physically ill when she sees another person with a deformity of any kind. I am not such a person.

^^A4^^

Could that be true?

^^A5^^

That's getting "rammed" from the rear.

^^A6^^

^^A7^^

While in Paris I sit in front of that very painting for two hours.

^^A8^^

I've been asked why I am so obsessed with Donald Trump. Well, I find the motherfucker hilarious.

^^A9^^

Talking To Her Duck

I had to listen to that more than once.

^^A10^^

My wife complained that the grocery store didn't have any shredded cheese so she had to buy a block of cheese and shred it herself. By hand. Like the Amish.

You can't imagine how disappointed I was when I found out that nuclear energy was just another way to boil water for steam power.

PLACES

????
^^B1^^

Is it just me or does that rug look too small to fill that space?

^^B2^^

I can understand how the mistake was made but I can't understand why it wasn't fixed.

^^B3^^

^^B4^^

^^B5^^

I'm assuming it's a triangular building photographed at just the right angle.

^^B6^^

I'm not much of a suer but if I tripped, fell, and hurt myself I would sue the shit out of them.

^^B7^^

Another downside to being old is that I know I could never get in and out of that tub.

^^B8^^

I guess they fly it in by helicopter.

^^B9^^

The only thing worse than bagpipes is kids learning to play bagpipes.

My wife asked me what I wanted for lunch and I told her Chinese. She reminded me that we had Chinese the day before and that we can't eat China two days in a row. I reminded her that 1 billion Chinese do it every day.

THINGS

^^C1^^

^^C2^^

*Explanation Requested

^^C3^^

I can think of nothing more depressing than child-sized coffins.

^^C4^^

There are many such tiny paintings on the Internet but I am so jaded I fear that they are all photoshopped.

^^C7^^

An engineer friend of mine lived on the river that cuts right through Columbia South Carolina. There is an ordinance that states that no dock or pier can be built on the river. But this man had a huge tree washed up against his shoreline. He managed to pull that tree up into his yard and anchor one end very securely so that the other end protruded out over the water 20 feet. On that end of the tree, he built a deck and it was all legal.

^^C8^^

Including part of the sidewalk in the painting makes that very effective.

^^C9^^

A car ran into the wall and they put this up while waiting for repairs to be made.

^^D6^^

I bet every child who lives in such a city is taught to swim at a very early age.

^^D7^^

^^D8^^

^^D9^^

Horse Helper

I think the smaller horse was having trouble eating with that halter on but I could be mistaken.

^^D10^^

"Hey, could you do that again I had my phone in my pocket?"

Photo C3 - probably a sun dial

C2: I experienced exactly the same thing with a jar of peanuts. Except the jar was clear so you could see the peanuts inside were much larger than the "actual size" photo.
I'll try send a pic to you.

You have posted photos of teachers carrying firearms in other countries and if I remember right, you praised it. Should our teachers arm themselves here in the USA?

Dear Arm Teachers, Yes, when Russia invades.
Seriously, the same party that doesn't trust teachers to select library books or talk about race or talk about gayness now trusts these same people with a lethal weapon amidst children?
I taught for 20 years and I never met one teacher who I thought could handle a gun in an emergency. So, no, teachers shouldn't have guns.

i've never understood the long nails thing either, i dated a girl for a few months that always got her nails fixed, i'm a male as well and i hate the feeling of my nails after a few days of not clipping it's just problematic, but not like so short where you can't open a can of pop
