STACK-O-BOXES UPDATE

I hate throwing anything away and as a result, I have amassed mountains of miscellaneous stuff that I decided to use on a box.

First, a few shots that show the four sides.

Notice the four functioning hinges are incorporated in the box designs.

Here's the box facade that allowed me to get rid of the pieces of dowels I have been moving from studio to studio for decades.

The side of that "box" has holes as if its function is to tote critters.

I burned a half dozen old rotted steamer trunks back in 1975 and sifted through the ashes for the hardware. I finally got to use much of it.

And...

That one is canvas covered.

I even got to use some leather scraps.

I've pulled a lot of hardware off furniture discarded on the side of the road. I used much of it also.

I even used two of the house numbers from my first house.

I had great fun designing the facades.

I even managed to use up the last of the lath.

As is my habit, I positioned a functional handle in the front center to facilitate the opening of the lid.

And of course, it's a functioning trunk.

In my neighborhood, a wing restaurant painted a screen on an adjacent building. 

They placed picnic tables around and showed movies while you ate. But when you subtract the days it was too cold, too hot, too windy, rainy, and/or had flying bugs, then the days it could be comfortably used was like 10 a year.
