"We don't take an oath to a king, or queen, or a tyrant or a dictator. And we don't take an oath to a wannabe dictator ...we take an oath to the Constitution ... and we're willing to die to protect it".

My favorite part of this whole blog thing is making One Of My Very Owns. They may not all be gems but they are as good as I can make them.

I watched a documentary that showed a very large building crane hoisting up a smaller crane when the building was complete to lower the disassembled larger crane to the ground. I thought that was rather clever.
Could every Egyptian read those or was literacy just for the rich and powerful?
It has been speculated that exposed dinosaur fossils led to the myths of dragons by early civilizations.

Making Art
Award-winning American artist Alexa Meade creates life-sized portraits… in the real world. Recently, she transformed NYC Best Buy into a public interactive art exhibit, Wonderland Dreams, where she painted directly on people, objects, and their surroundings to turn them into living works of art that appear two-dimensional.

Hey! Do you know why! It's 2024 and I am using exclamation points at the end of every sentence! I don't care if it looks like I'm unhinged! I am! Warmest regards!!!
I've decided to just be fully delusional this year and see where that takes me because being sensible hasn't gleaned the results I desire.

My friend Carl Copland was one of the most unique individuals I have ever met. He built movie sets among other things. Once he had been working for over a year without a day off so he decided to take a vacation. He sat down in the office of a travel agent who asked him where he would like to go and Carl looked around the room and pointed to a large poster on the wall. "I want to go there." And the travel agent gasped, "YOU WANT TO GO TO ZAMBIA?!" And Carl went and had a ball. He later said he had no idea where it was he just liked the picture on the poster.
"Because it will make an interesting video clip, that's why."
I find it interesting that he thought that just might work.

How much beauty to launch a single ship…
Logically if Helen of Troy was “The face that launched a thousand ships” then one thousandth of a “Helen” is enough to launch one ship. I therefore propose that the SI unit of beauty is the “Millihelen”.
Science Guy
"How much beauty is required to launch just one ship?"
Surely this has already been established as 1/1000th of a Helen?
Two things rofl @ Trump's Wall, I remember when they were like let's build a wall on the border of Canada - Good do it & that tidal wave, i'd have left way before it flooded over
B4-Literacy among Ancient Egyptians was 1 to 5%, so your assumption is correct. It was lost on most people. However a study 15 years ago revealed that less than 50% of the audience for a popular news programme understood such basic words as 'democracy'and 'constitution'.Also, both in the US and UK that "50% of the population don't know wnat 50% means..!"...no wonder people get in trouble with debts and mortgages.
