As a pharmacist, I would hear this all the time: "the generic doesn't work as good as the brand name!". Interesting thing is that in order to be substituted, a generic drug must be shown to have bioequivalence to the brand name...extent of absorption, half life, peak effect, etc. So even though the active ingredients are identical and the time profiles are very similar, people that say they MUST have the brand are really showing the placebo effect of price on perceived therapeutic effectiveness. Interesting story...
