Having formally studied art for most of my adult life, I thought I had a pretty good understanding of the cave art left by our ancestors.
Most look like this, crude outlines or stilted sketches that, at best, merely resemble the real animals.
But let's imagine that a large cave once populated by humans was sealed by a great landslide and stayed in it's pristine state for 35,000 years. Well, that's what they discovered a few years ago.
The art is....well, see for yourselves.
Further, some of the animals depictions have multiple legs and horns to give the illusion of movement in the light of flickering torches...much like cels in an animation.
The floor is left exactly like the day of the landslide, complete with bones left where they fell and footprints. One child's footprint has that of a lion next to it, as if the child were being stalked.
They found a flute whose holes produced a perfect pentatonic scale; the same one we use today.
It is called Chauvet Cave for the discoverer.
There is a movie, Cave of Forgotten Dreams, that should not be missed....trust me on this one.
Here's an interview with the crazy motherfucker who made the film.....and the mutant alligator shit is true.

NEWS OF THE DAY
But, hey, the war on staring at things is over...
And even as brutal as the crazy bastard was, his people truly loved him.....go figure.
And now let's imagine classic animated films produced with modern standards....shall we....
