One Of My Very Own...

When he was in the 5th grade I taught that kid who shot those people in the Charleston church. I don't remember him, which tells me he was average.
And then there's his hair.
Not one, but two, "experts" said that he must be wearing a wig since no body would cut their hair like that.
And this unusual headline in the Huffington Post:
Reads like an Onion piece, but it's not.
And this late breaking news:
I just got home from my bar and I have bets out that the kid's sister will not get married Sunday as planned. Oddly enough, all the girls at the bar thought she would continue with her plans, and just me and a male manager thought she would not. And that, Gentle Reader, is why I describe myself in the profile as someone who will gamble on anything.

I find it so very odd that very few of the people on earth sees the humor in the fact that damn near every single person thinks that their religion is the one true religion and all the others are just stupid.
People laughing at other people's little caps, or little rugs, or funny foods, or....you get my point. But the real mystery is that it somehow never occurs to any of them that they are all wrong. If you believe that, say, 90% of the world just made up some shit to explain death and life, I suppose, then why is it almost impossible to believe that your 10% falls into the same invented primitive origin?
In a way it's like believing with all your heart that the USA is the best country the world has ever seen. Forget about all the polls of happiness, etc that show Scandinavia is a cool ass place to live, Americans just ignore all our problems. Why? That's what they were taught by their parents and shit like that is hard to break. And don't confuse strength with greatness. They are not the same thing.

Lies I've told...
WARNING! IF YOU ARE AT ALL SENSITIVE, YOU ARE WELL ADVISED TO STOP HERE. SERIOUSLY.
Let's continue our discussion of grandfathers.
Let's not forget that these assholes had grandchildren also.
Germans today have or had grandfathers who could do some pretty awful shit.
This is Prague in May, 1945.
First they rounded up the men.
Then they marched them out of town and mowed them down with machine guns.
But to make sure they were dead, they did this.
The people who did that became grandfathers who passed down their...wisdom.
I thought long and hard about posting that last image, but I think it best that we are reminded of such things from time to time. I'm sorry if it haunts your dreams as it has haunted mine.

I thought "American Woman" by the Guess Who was a peculiar choice of music to honor the women's US soccer team as it competes with the world in the FIFA championship hosted by Canada. Have you read the lyrics to that piece? It's hardly complimentary to the American woman or America itself. Ironically this song was written by Burton Cummings of the Guess Who - a Canadian. The lyrics make it a better anti-America protest song than music to rally the "troops".

Re:- Prague in May, 1945...
The worlds worst case of ethnic cleansing was......
When the Germans were shipped back to Germany (or killed)
immediately after WW2. The whole of Europe was guilty of that one!
"Between 1945 and 1950, Europe witnessed the largest episode of forced migration, and perhaps the single greatest movement of population, in human history. Between 12 million and 14 million German-speaking civilians—the overwhelming majority of whom were women, old people, and children under 16—were forcibly ejected from their places of birth in Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Romania, Yugoslavia, and what are today the western districts of Poland. As The New York Times noted in December 1945, the number of people the Allies proposed to transfer in just a few months was about the same as the total number of all the immigrants admitted to the United States since the beginning of the 20th century.
