About Me

My photo
I'm an artist, educator, militant anti-theist , and I write. I gamble on just about anything. And I like beer...but I love my wife. This blog contains observations from a funny old man who gets pissed off every once in a while.

MONDAY #2503

One Of My Very Own…

>
The phishers all use the exact same format in comments:
"Ahaa, its good conversation on the topic of this piece of writing at this place at this webpage, I have read all that, so at this time me also commenting here."

Then they offer a link to buy Viagra or some such shit.
Who in their right mind would click such a thing?

But then they up it a notch with a complaint...

"When I initially commented I clicked the 'Notify me when new comments are added' checkbox and now each time a comment is added I get several e-mails
with the same comment. Is there any way you can remove people from that service?
Thank you!"

Then, of course, there is an ad link. But you have to admit it, appealing to my making a mistake is clever.

Science Tells Death To Just Go Fuck Itself
This child is an Australian toddler named Jaxon Taylor. He was in a car accident, and was "internally decapitated." This means that his spinal cord was totally severed in his neck, disconnecting his head from the rest of his body. After extensive operations, doctors were able to reattach his head, and the boy is expected to make a full recovery.
What a time to be alive...no pun intended.

 >
I've written about this many times. Guns don't kill people. Gangbangers kill people.

Speaking of...

Standard Manufacturing DP-12 Doublepump Shotgun

When you really, really, really need to kill a motherfucker.
And this little guy...

NEW STREET ART

Humiliation of women who surrendered at the end of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising.
Then they were executed.

This is the last photo of Sophie Scholl (May 9, 1921 - February 22, 1943), German resistance fighter convicted of high treason and executed.
At least she fought back.
I would so like to think I would have rejected the insanity.
Despite the evidence otherwise, most Americans think that their government is the greatest ever created and that it can do no evil. That is exactly how a nation gets into trouble.
But it sure makes us feel good about ourselves...smug, even.
Then there is the stories we seldom hear about.
A young German soldier (pictured center left, without helmet) refuses to participate in the execution of 16 Yugoslav civilians. He positioned himself within the group and was executed for disobeying his NCO. He chose death instead of killing hopeless civilians. His name was Josef Schulz.
Or so I'm told.

Notice that the planks were cut from the same tree.
That kind of detail is hard to beat.

I didn't even know that was possible.

A wave machine in The Netherlands to test dike designs.
That's amazing. Can you imagine the designers of that machine seeing it in action for the first time?

Demonstrating how heat absorbant the space shuttle's thermal tiles really are.
And the next generation of those things are even more amazing.

They say there was once a woman (I think it was in Oregon) who ran a marathon without talking about it.

(NOTE: My wonderful bartender on Sunday is that delightful woman who works at the zoo. She had three of us more or less cornered and opined about whether she should enter the next marathon. I recited the above quote with perfect timing and as she walked away she said she hated me.)

This is supposed to be true.
If I owned land and put in a road, I would name it Bridge Ices Before Rd.

Worth another view...

Think you're stupid? Einstein's Nobel Prize money went to his ex-wife as a divorce settlement.

>
That seems to me to be an excellent way to express yourself. I could be wrong, but it sounds understanding and nonjudgemental; something depressed people probably need. I would have inserted a "still" between you're and alive at the end.

>
Just the facts, ma'am.
That may be true, but I always thought it was Harrison Ford with his cut from Star Wars, Indiana Jones and the Vatican bullshit. I may be wrong.
That is not a slam at Tommy. I think he is great.

The caption read: This statue is a totally different one on the other side.

But aren't all statues totally different on the other side?
Just sayin'.

Question: How did the plant know the pole was there?
What an extraordinary effort. It looks so....aware. You think it made attempts like that in all directions and they only showed us the part where there was an object?

>
I don't know exactly why, but I don't believe that. I suggest it was how the survey question was worded, or who they asked, or who had free health care and thus (probably) complained more.
What do you think?

>
I've never understood such silliness. What is the payoff? Has anyone, in the history of dick pics, been written back with positive feedback? Or is it just the modern way to flash your dick without the street light illuminated trench coat? Maybe it is just a way to assert your dominance of the recipient. Like I said, I just don't understand it. Keep in mind, no matter what you do for a living, when (not if) you are ratted out by some irate female, you are fucked....for life...and not the good kind of fucked.

>

Why is it so hard for women to find men who are sensitive, caring, and good-looking? Because those men already have boyfriends.

>
And that is exactly why I wasn't supposed to have a handlebar mustache in the USAF. When I had to be around officers, I would tuck the long tips in my mouth and just mumble my way through the encounter. That's true.

>
I did not write that caption, but I think it very clever.

Recognize these people?
I think they have aged rather well.

Getting the girl off is not some "optional bonus round." If it didn't happen, you didn't "wind the game."

As I understand it, this is an island in Japan, I think, called Fox Island....appropriately. I just wonder how they establish which is the alpha male?

Stabbing a phone battery with a knife...
I wonder how long it will be before someone stabs someone and gets this in their face.

Watch as she turns a piece of paper into a bird.
My guess is that her uncle taught the cheeky bitch that.

The rabbit hole costs extra.
How much more?
I'm going to tell you a story. I am hesitant, but it is Sunday night and I'm watching a football game that I MUST win to win the pool and have some time on my hands.
After my first wife and I separated, I hooked up with a married woman and we.....experimented. Then I called her on the phone to tell her that I had found my soulmate (my present wife) and that it would be too complicated to maintain our trysts. Then I heard her say these words: "Damn! Now I will never get fucked in the ass!"
Yes, there was a pause on my part, but in hindsight, I made the right decision in cutting her loose.

Clever hockey fan Halloween costume...
Got a kid...try this...

I would like to be the dead lion and just lay around all night with people bringing me beers.

But be careful, there are boo-birds out there.
Fuck you.

For all you people with three skeletons just sitting around.

Actually the US isn't 3rd in murders, or at least not in murder rates. That would be the US Virgin Islands, with 52.6 per 100,000.

The US is way down the list, with 4.7 per 100,000.

The moral is, never trust a meme. They turn the words into pictures to make it harder to google them.

Just a follow-up: here you can see the US cities with the highest murder rates

http://www.neighborhoodscout.com/top-lists/highest-murder-rate-cities/

Note that Detroit is #7, New Orleans is #9, and Chicago and Washington DC don't even make the top 30.
