About Me

My photo
I'm an artist, educator, militant anti-theist , and I write. I gamble on just about anything. And I like beer...but I love my wife. This blog contains observations from a funny old man who gets pissed off every once in a while.

Every year the silicon computer chip shrinks in size by half and doubles in power, enabling our devices to become more mobile and accessible. But what happens when our chips can't get any smaller?
The untapped world of nanomaterials.

UNUSUAL IMAGES

Oscar Pistorius' prosthetics lie on the floor as he walks on his amputated legs during argument in mitigation of sentence by his defense attorney Barry Roux in the High Court in Pretoria, South Africa, on June 15. An appeals court found Pistorius guilty of murder and not a lesser charge of culpable homicide for the shooting death of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.

But that is exactly why she lost the election. She considered anyone who would vote for Trump an idiot and nobody likes to be called an idiot.

I couldn't find much about this either...

But this is what was said about it:
"Groups of dark brown streaks have been photographed by the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter on melting pinkish sand dunes covered with light frost."

Speaking of...

NASA’s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) has recently found a remarkable covert ice deposit under Utopia Planitia on the Red Planet that is expected to comprise as much water as Lake Superior, the largest of the Great Lakes of North America.

Researcher were baffled after learning that 234 stars out of 2.5 million release a very precise signal, something that fits perfectly into previous ETI models.

"When Danish naval officer Gustav Holm was exploring the eastern coast of Greenland in 1885, an Inuit named Kunit gave him this three-dimensional wooden map. The two parts form one whole: The bottom carving represents the coast from Sermiligak to Kangerdlugsuatsiak, and the top is an island offshore. The Inuit would carry these maps in their kayaks to navigate the waters between the two landmasses."

I have never thought of this before...

This is the part I hate the most.

I talked to a young woman just the other day and I asked if she was religious. She said she was Catholic. I asked if she went to Mass or read the bible or went to confession and she kind of laughed and said, "Nooooo" in the same tone she would deny eating dog shit. I then asked why she said she was Catholic and she said, "Because I was born Catholic."
And I think such as that is what skews the numbers in polls. People are asked if they are religious and they just say whatever they were raised as because it's easier and less embarrassing than trying to explain that deep down they don't believe anymore.

But I sincere understand this...

Meditation, yoga, running and drinking would probably help without getting magic involved.
