About Me

My photo
I'm an artist, educator, militant anti-theist , and I write. I gamble on just about anything. And I like beer...but I love my wife. This blog contains observations from a funny old man who gets pissed off every once in a while.

THINGS I'VE I HAVE LEARNED RECENTLY

More people are bitten each year by New Yorkers than by sharks. True.

A study conducted in 2015 surveying the behavior of 1,170 children aged 5 to 12-years-olds, all from various countries and backgrounds. Researchers sampled Christian, Muslim, and not religious households as their main focus, but also sampled smaller numbers from Buddhist, Jewish, and Hindu households as well.
Those with religious upbringings were found to be more nosey, judgmental, and less altruistic than children from non-religious backgrounds.

How many times do I have to say "excuse me" before "get the fuck out of my way" becomes acceptable?

PEOPLE DO THE DAMNEST THINGS

My friend has been diagnosed as an Agent Orange victim.

Ladies and gentlemen, a true monster.
This Smug looking asshole is Javier Duarte, ex Governor of the state of Veracruz in México. He is a fugitive that stole $1,608,833,800. This is nothing new for Mexico's corrupt government, but this man committed a despicable act that is a new record low for humanity.
Among the billions he stole... he took money that was designated for buying Chemotherapy treatment for CHILDREN who had cancer. Not just that but the sick children got FAKE CHEMOTHERAPY....How? The children received injections of DISTILLED WATER and their families were led to believe that they were being treated with the medications indicated on their chemotherapy prescription.

Vape blew up on this guy.
But he had built his own out of various parts from different vape systems. Don't do that.

I met a quadriplegic poet who wrote a poem about this very thing.

One of my wife's best friends, Diane Ford, is a professional comedian who has had a couple of HBO specials.
While living in LA, Diane allow a young comedian to live with her free of charge for six months while she got her feet on the ground. Diane also bought her food and some clothes. Then when Roseanne Barr hit it big Diane called and asked if they could get together and that bitch said, "I have new friends now," and hung up on her.

Photo was taken with a drone.

Question: What is the most bombed country in history?
I'll give you a couple of minutes to think about it.

I set the bed of my pickup truck on fire with a discarded cigarette much like this one time. Embarrassed the hell out of me.

Think ghost town and you’ll probably imagine ruins —roofless houses, dirty broken windows, rotting floors, but at Kitsault, on the North Coast of British Columbia, Canada, you’ll find rows upon rows of immaculately kept houses, shopping centers, restaurants, banks, pubs and theaters, all abandoned and sitting empty but untouched and spotless.
The town’s lights are always on, the streets are lined with neatly trimmed trees and there are freshly mowed lawns, yet no one has called Kitsault home since 1982.
The town of Kitsault, near the Alaskan border, situated about 115 kilometers down the gravel road from Terrace, had a very brief existence. It began in 1979 as a community of workers of the molybdenum mines.
Molybdenum forms hard, stable carbides in alloys, and is often used to provide hardness and corrosion resistance properties to steel.
But just as life was getting started in this pristine mountain utopia, the market for molybdenum crashed and the entire town of some 1,200 residents abandoned it.
But in 2005, India-born American entrepreneur, Krishnan Suthanthiran, bought the town for $7 million and began charting its revival. Since then, the millionaire has poured an estimated $25 million on upgrades and upkeep. More than a dozen caretakers make rounds of the houses and other structures, checking on their conditions and making repairs. They mow the lawns, trim the trees and sweep the streets. Suthanthiran plans to recoup his investments by turning Kitsault into a hub of British Columbia’s Liquefied Natural Gas industry.

The most bombed country on Earth is Laos.
From 1964 - 1973, during the Vietnam War, the United States dropped more than two million tons of ordnance on Laos over 580,000 bombing runs. That's the equivalent of a planeload of bombs every eight minutes, twenty-four hours a day, for nine years.
And that was just ONE year. That went on for NINE YEARS!
That's more bombs than dropped on Germany and Japan combined during World War II and enough for every man, woman, and child living in Laos (at the time) to receive one ton each.
62,000 Laotians perished...and they were innocent.
This is a pretty powerful presentation:

Watch a movie with an unusual premise.

After the zombie outbreak had been gotten under control, they put all the zombies on a large island and people paid to shoot them...like a safari with a guide and high priced guns. What could possibly go wrong.

I have a friend who swallowed 8 Scrabble tiles. His next bowel movement could spell disaster.

DOGS

Ever wonder how they get a dog to "act" in a movie?
Terrified German Shepherd forced into turbulent water on the set of the movie "A Dog's Purpose".
I thought they were required to have a rep from animal rights on each set. Am I wrong?

 I couldn't agree more.

Guys, if she wants to see pictures of your dick, she will tell you to send her pictures of your dick. Yes, being a human being is just that simple.

A COUPLE OF REPOSTS I STILL ENJOY

If they ever come out with moving images that hang like photos on the wall, I would like this one first.
Also, I want to thank the people who spent their time to allow me to look at things like that.

(That's not true)

Do you believe the devil can "possess" someone?
Of course not. The Exorcist was a movie...it is not real. The same goes for walking on water, turning water to wine and raising a dead guy.
There is no such thing as magic.
There has never been such a thing as magic.
And there will never be such a thing as magic.

I only have two cousins on my Dad's side and both fought in Vietnam. The oldest died from Agent Orange and the younger is dying. So much for that side of my family.
PS: I'm up for moving to Kitsault if Trump continues his new reality show of playing POTUS.
