About Me

My photo
I'm an artist, an educator, Pastafarian and I write. I also will gamble on just about anything. And I like unusual juxtaposition, but I love my wife...and beer. This blog is observations from a funny old man who gets pissed off every once in a while. Oh, and I mispell alot.

SUNDAY #3073

COME ON PEOPLE

What a beautiful woman.

And...
Rep. Ted Lieu (D-CA) has formally introduced a bill into Congress that would require Trump to reimburse the government for funds spent on travel to his own properties, such as Mar-a-Lago in Florida and the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, NJ. Lieu’s bill, the Stop Waste and Misuse by the President (SWAMP) Act, states that Trump’s travel “results in the American taxpayer effectively subsidizing the president’s businesses.” The bill would also require that Trump reimburse the government for Secret Service costs derived from visits to his properties.

Finally, some relative good news.
Plants are doing great all over the world, probably because of increased CO2. 25% to 50% of the Earth is more green now than in 1970, and only 4% is more brown.

Social Warriors want to scrap the typing exercise: “The quick brown fox jumps over a lazy dog.” because it's very judgmental of the dog.

STRANGENESS

When you absolutely, positively have to keep your pants up...

How unusual.

This is Lindsay Hilton, Crossfit athlete, partial arts master and rugby player from Nova Scotia. Born without any limbs (tetra-amelia), she didn't let that set her back in achieving her goals and dreams. This is the definition of heart and soul, the epitome of dedication and determination. Much respect to this badass lady!

It gave us kids of the 50s the idea that there would always be someone to right the wrongs. That deceiving bastard.

Ah, now I see the light.
So, that is how we can have less births and still keep getting more people. You just don't let them die young.

ART AND PHOTOGRAPHY

Richard Mosse uses military-grade surveillance equipment intended for detecting enemy movement for an unintended use: to document the plight of refugees, an extension of an earlier project titled "Incoming."

Portrait of Camillo Rospigliosi by Giovanni Battista Calandra (Italian, 1586-1644)
I can almost assure you that Mr. Calandra did not place all those tiles by hand. He supervised his assistants, just like I would have done.

The more things change the more they are the same. Or, there are no new poses.

If I'm not mistaken, this was done with a palette knife...

I would drive 20 miles back to the store and throw that in somebody's face.

The state of Minnesota is dealing with its largest outbreak of measles in Minnesota in nearly 30 years, with 41 confirmed cases reported since April. And most of the cases have occurred among a community of Somali immigrants, which the state health department says have been “targeted” by members of the anti-vaccination movement.

What if...
A future where everyone is expected to play computer games. Those who draw or practice a musical instrument are considered suspect. These strange ones have trouble getting apartments or even a job. All people talk about are their highest scores and tactics for victory. There are stiff laws prohibiting any gamer from using any shortcuts, and being caught with any hacked game is considered fraud and a crime against the social order.
A society run by the biggest corporation there has ever been and it makes only products for personal distraction.

Nice people don't necessarily fall in love with nice people.

CREATURES THAT SHARE OUR PLANET

I've got some bad news. My friend in middle school took me to his house where there was a scene very similar to the one above. A very few seconds later that snake opened its eyes, took a quick look around the aquarium and them BAM! He headbutted the mouse to knock it out, then gulped it down. Then went back to sleep.

Okay, I will say up front that I like shark meat. It tastes just like sting ray, which is my favorite.
And that's just another reason to get pissed off over this shark fin fetish...they waste the rest of the shark. Who would do such a thing?

Steven W. Chase, 58, a Florida man whom the Federal Bureau of Investigation says created the “world’s largest child pornography website” has been sentenced to 30 years in prison. Chase is the creator and former chief administrator of Playpen, a dark-net website that traded in child pornography, which reportedly had up to 250,000 members. Following his arrest, the FBI seized control of the website and—in a decision controversial to this day—kept it running for almost two weeks while distributing malware designed to unmask its visitors. Fifty-one of those apprehended have been identified as “hands-on abusers.”
And here's what that son of a bitch looks like.
