One Of My Very Own...
This is one of the most interesting clips I have ever seen, especially how long it takes for the river to calm down. I found it so fascinating that I posted it here even though it's not technically news.
And THAT is why you get out of the water when there's a storm afoot.

THINGS THAT I REALLY HOPE ARE TRUE

Winston Churchill (1944) A liberated Frenchman lights the cigar of England’s Prime Minister following the defeat of the German army.
If I'm not mistaken, that is a Zippo lighter. It was invented to light with gasoline as fuel, something no other lighter had ever done.

THE HUMOROUS PART
So Bella Thorne...
Releases a video of her masturbating and it trends on Twitter.
I do the same and I get banned from the Sonic Drive-Thru where I made the video.

My wife surprised me with a new wine rack she made herself.

Hello, we bring peace and freedom.
Please do not resist.

I HAVE QUESTIONS
It has occurred to me that we live in extraordinarily fragile housing. Even though we know eventually a 100mph wind will blow it down, we still build our homes the same way they did 100....500 years ago. Then there's the fact that they burn remarkably easy. Add to that the costs of normal repair...replacing roofs, painting, etc, and it just doesn't seem to make sense.

Interesting question. There are, of course, insurance policies that will cover drugs, but you have to get in on the plan PRIOR to actually needing the medication.
How do other countries avoid this shakedown?
===
Speaking of insurance...
How could you possibly insure this procedure? I can just imagine my insurance agent watching this and then writing out a policy.
===
I tried to find additional information on this and came up nil. Anybody got any ideas?

WWI German Sub Washes Ashore The World War I sub washed ashore in Sussex, England, after its tethers broke while being towed to France.
I don't understand how it got so far inland. I mean even a higher tide wouldn't keep the keel off the sand.

Why is every new discovery automatically assumed to be a temple? Maybe it's a fancy ass brothel.

My wife just asked if I would take her to a nice restaurant with a salad bar and free refills.
ON A PERSONAL NOTE...
Certain images bring to mind memories from my youth.
Once my father and mother loaded all five kids in the car to go get a milk shake at a new ice cream drive in. There were two policemen standing out front when we arrived, and my father just so happened to run over a half full milk shake that someone had left in a parking place. Somehow the milk shake squirted out of the quickly collapsing cup and sprayed the cops from head to toe...and they were like 25 feet away!
I was about 4 years old and still remember it.

Homo Sapiens the problem solvers.
I take great pride in my ability to break a problem down into ever small pieces and then solving them one at a time.
I also marvel at the very simple ideas that went so long unexplored.

Look at the number of leashes she is laboring with...
Why wouldn't she run one leash through the loop of the next? Dogs are still under control, but she would only have to hold six or so leashes.

A BLAST FROM THE PAST
I was sitting in a lawn chair when a large fireworks tube turned over after being lit and the ball of fire streaked right toward my face.
I did exactly what the bald guy did, but notice guy in orange shirt.

"WASHINGTON: A newborn's first stool can alert doctors if they are at risk for problems with intelligence and reasoning in later life, according to a new study.
Researchers from Case Western Reserve University said that high levels of fatty acid ethyl esters (FAEE) found in the meconium (a newborn's first stool) from a mother's alcohol use during pregnancy can tell if a child is at risk for problems with intelligence and reasoning."
I don't think it was lightning that hit the river. It may be a fuse to an explosive under the water. Nitrogen dioxide produces an orange cloud, like is seen in this. Blasting and mining videos on this youtube channel include this:

“Take submerged mining and blasting work to an expert
Mining and construction of beaches and underwater rock in Turku archipelago and surroundings. Underwater quarrying lowers the rock surface level in the lake, ocean or other waters. Before the excavation work is started, a mining and blasting plan is planned to ensure that everything is safely accomplished. The rock mining in water is licensed and may require the permission of the regional government agency (AVI).
Where is underwater mining suitable?
Underwater quarrying is used for the refurbishment of beaches and waterways and the creation of sea symbols. In addition, the deepening, construction and maintenance of waterways are carried out in mining and blasting operations. Extraction is carried out by placing a submerged special explosive into the drilling holes, which is immersed in drilled holes in the rock….
