If you're curious about what he was covering, it concerns the February 7th battle between the US and Kurdish forces and Syrian Regime and Russian Mercenary forces. A large column of regime troops including tanks and artillery approached a US-supported forward base, fired on it and... well. According to Reuters: "The U.S. military has said that in its effort to repel the attack on Feb. 7, U.S. forces on the ground called in coalition strikes for more than three hours, involving F-15E fighter jets, MQ-9 drones, B-52 bombers, AC-130 gunships and AH-64 Apache helicopters."
Yeah. It was revealed afterward the attacking force included a large number of Russian mercenaries from the Wagner Group, a private military contractor with ties to "Putin's Chef" Yevgeniy Prigozhin.
Russian reporter, Maxim Borodin, has been reporting on the incident. He also took a five-story header off his balcony and died in hospital on Sunday. His friends deny he was suicidal.
