About Me

My photo
I'm an artist, educator, militant anti-theist , and I write. I gamble on just about anything. And I like beer...but I love my wife. This blog contains observations from a funny old man who gets pissed off every once in a while.

Indeed.

I took a bricklaying class. Putting mortar on the end is called "buttering" it. It is not as easy as it looks.

4 million dollar quartz found in Arkansas

The image shows a mine worker posing beside a 2.5-meter chunk of quartz discovered beneath mineral-rich Arkansas, reports the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. Joel Ledbetter, a spokesman for the Ron Coleman Mining company, told the newspaper the man in the photo was part of a mining team that spent four days excavating the quartz in 2016. He said the lump of crystals was uncovered in the company mine in Jessieville, about 30 minutes north of the city Hot Springs.

This shows flooding in Michigan. I was very interested in the strange bridge.
I have deduced that it is for pedestrians. It reminds me of the T bridge which was the bombardier's target for the first atomic bomb.

Let's take another look at this soap making.

Star Trek TNG, Final scene of the last episode.
While in the military in Germany I had a poker game in my room every payday. One time the door was swung open and there stood the new First Sargeant. We locked eyes and I thought I was going to jail. Instead, he asked if there was room for one more. We, of course, welcomed him.

Puzzle time:
Just one. Sample the BW box. What ever color you draw is the color of the other marble in the box. Since the other two are also labled incorrectly it is now down to just two swapped lables.

From FDR's 1944 State of the Union Address:

In our day these economic truths have become accepted as self-evident. We have accepted, so to speak, a second Bill of Rights under which a new basis of security and prosperity can be established for all regardless of station, race, or creed.

Among these are:

The right to a useful and remunerative job in the industries or shops or farms or mines of the Nation;

The right to earn enough to provide adequate food and clothing and recreation;

The right of every farmer to raise and sell his products at a return which will give him and his family a decent living;

The right of every businessman, large and small, to trade in an atmosphere of freedom from unfair competition and domination by monopolies at home or abroad;

The right of every family to a decent home;

The right to adequate medical care and the opportunity to achieve and enjoy good health;

The right to adequate protection from the economic fears of old age, sickness, accident, and unemployment;

The right to a good education.
