About Me

I'm an artist, educator, militant anti-theist , and I write. I gamble on just about anything. And I like beer...but I love my wife. This blog contains observations from a funny old man who gets pissed off every once in a while.

SUNDAY NEWS AND OBSERVATIONS

To make them more palatable I say make masks fun.
This is me in my wife's RBG mask.

But you do it because you are a good citizen. Thank you.

 Ouch!

 Reminds me of my wife.

Idiocracy

Listen to this guy here:

READ THAT A-FUCKING-GAIN!!!

At the same time, millions of people are sick and 135,000+ have died, the administration openly admits they don’t want people to listen to the CDC.

When they tell you to send your children back to school while a lethal pandemic rages unchecked when they say to ignore the guidance of doctors that have dedicated their lives to understanding disease, will you sacrifice your children for the Party?

Someone left this comment:
"I see that you continually post about those of us who don't take every word from a supposed scientist or specialist, in regards to disease and the environment - very seriously. I have never put much faith into what a supposed specialist or even a scientist says 100%. They make mistakes like the rest of us. Here in the dirty south, you need to have a license to cut hair, ever had a bad haircut? I have. An education or a certificate shows you attended a class or course but, no way does that make one infallible. Rant over." on WEDNESDAY NEWS UPDATE

I know doctors make mistakes...that's why they have malpractice insurance. No one is talking about infallibility. I am sure they made mistakes in coping with a brand new illness...thus "novel virus."
I, personally, am not able to analyze all the data pouring in from around the world and I desperately need someone to give me the best diagnosis possible concerning this data. The question is: Who makes the fewer mistakes analyzing the data - a trained doctor with 50 years experience or a former reality show host who told you this is all a hoax?

Before closing, I would like to ask you some things very seriously:
What do you think victory over covid would look like?
What would have to happen before you declared victory?
And to achieve that goal what is required of you?

If you answered that last one with "nothing" then you are the problem.
The absolute necessity of all of us washing our hands, social distancing, and wearing a mask IS NOT AN OPINION. IT IS FACT...PROVEN ALL OVER THE WORLD!
DO YOU ANTI-MASKS EVEN READ?
Not wearing a mask is the number one reason we have blown our response. There are mandatory mask orders all over the world. These governments are not all more stupid than you and your poorly thought-out opinion.
Wearing the mask will speed the openings of all the stores you so desperately desire.
Don't be stupid on purpose.

Hiya Ralph,

I see you referenced my past comment on professional medical advice today. I wear my mask, but I don't chastise those who don't. See - I'm a believer in freedom. I wear mine, but if you don't that's on you. As for the environment, please take note of how many times we have been told, by supposed professionals, of environmental prophesies that never materialized. Or, that so and so will die, something will be no more, we will run out of something or that something will end, fall out, or go extinct if we don't act now. And virtually none of that has happened. In the words of Robert Heinlein - "I am free no matter what rules surround me. If I find them tolerable, I tolerate them; If I find them too obnoxious, I break them. I am free because I know that I alone am morally responsible for everything I do."
I still love your blog although, not your environmental, medical, and political advice. Keep up the great work on this blog.
Best regards,
Bobby

Dearest Bobby,
Do you think the US has been managed appropriately in fighting this pandemic? And if not, who should be blamed?
Respectfully,
Ralph

Bobby,
One more question - if a drunk friend wanted to drive himself home what would you advise?
Again respectfully,
Ralph

Hello Ralph,

Question 1: No Sir, I think that this COVID-19 is such a "new" problem, it would be virtually impossible to be prepared for it. I'm somewhat of a survivalist, not quite a prepper, but a very prepared person who believes in self reliance for me and mine. Now I have to include pandemic in my plans. Living in the suburbs of New Orleans, I also didn't plan for an earthquake, yet we recently had one in the gulf of Mexico. New problems require new solutions. Back to the question, If we absolutely have to blame someone, why not China or the WHO or the CDC? How about blaming Fauci? Did you hear his comment that New York is a role model for handling Covid-19? Over 32K deaths and the whole nursing home scandal? I just don't see how that would be constructive? I suppose if you have to blame someone, you could blame our CinC, I just don't see how that would be helpful. I can tell you this, when someone just has to make themselves feel better by placing blame on someone for something that happens in life, I always respond by saying, blame me, I have big shoulders, I can take it.

Question 2: ABSOLUTELY NOT, I'd rather rough up a friend or hurt their feelings than let them drive drunk. A stranger on the other hand, its pretty easy to walk away from that one.

Afterthought: no matter what I say, I'm probably not going to change your mind, and in all honestly, you're probably not going to change mine. I do however, enjoy hearing what the other side is thinking. I'm open to listening to differing opinions and, I actually enjoy an occasional exchange of opinions. As someone who feels that I alone am responsible for the survival of me and mine, I have to make the best decision with available intel and not necessarily the popular or supposed scientific one.

Should you wish to exchange ideas or maybe share a recipe or two, you have my mobile phone email address.

Have a great day Sir.

Kindest regards,

Bobby

Bobby,
Fauci screwed up because he didn't yet have the data to make rational decisions. Cuomo screwed up handling a disaster never before seen in our lifetime. China screwed up big time. The WHO screwed up like a China stooge.
But,...BUT Trump is my COMMANDER in CHIEF. He is in charge of keeping me and mine safe...it's in his oath. He is directly responsible for our nation's response to this catastrophe.
So, how's he doing. After five months do we have easy, prompt result testing? No.
Do all the hospitals have adequate PPE? No.
Is there a national mask mandate? No.
Have small businesses been given adequate aid to survive? No.
Have huge corporations been given huge sums of money instead of letting the stockholders assume the risk? Yes.
Are we Americans shunned from traveling just about everywhere on Earth? Yes.
Are there STILL refrigerator trucks outside hospitals because morgues are overwhelmed? Yes.
Have we run out of ICU units? Yes.
Does he still lie about the threat? Yes.

Only Napoleon was blamed for Waterloo.
Only Hitler was blamed for WWII.
Lincoln was lauded as the winner of the Civil War.
The buck of blame or credit ALWAYS goes to the top.
We have no plan as a nation. We are being embarrassed on the world stage. Our citizens are feared the world over. So who the fuck am I supposed to blame besides our COMMANDER in CHIEF?
Still respectfully even though I cursed.
Ralph
PS: I like corresponding where all my viewers can see these exchanges. Thanks anyway.

Fauci screwed up? How is that when you consider him infallible? Are you saying the top medical voice in the US was wrong? He also said we didn't need masks at the beginning of the pandemic. I do agree that it has not been handled in the best manner, but I so want to believe that most are doing the best they can with what they have.

It's always been that way. Passengers generally don't cause airplane crashes, its usually the pilot. Have a great day Sir.
