I see that you continually post about those of us who don't take every word from a supposed scientist or specialist, in regards to disease and the environment - very seriously. I have never put much faith into what a supposed specialist or even a scientist says 100%. They make mistakes like the rest of us. Here in the dirty south, you need to have a license to cut hair, ever had a bad haircut? I have. An education or a certificate shows you attended a class or course but, no way does that make one infallible. Rant over.
What if every doctor who specializes in pandemics tell you the same thing. Would that sway you - Specifically wearing a mask.
I'm a recent new reader. I think this is my second time here. If I had known you were anti-Trump I wouldn't have bothered. Just imagine the shit we'd be in if Hitlery had won, who BTW, is STILL crying about getting beaten like a drum, THREE EFFING YEARS LATER. She needs to move on and so do I. A hair stylist has maybe 6 months to a year of training. A PhD in epidemiology, or a MD who runs the NIH, has 12 or more years of training and their research is highly scrutinized.
Living in the south, I can attest that the willful ignorance of people is absolutely frightening. the largest hospital in Birmingham is going to convert a regular nursing unit to an ICU because of all the critically ill COVID patients...they are running out of ICU beds. Believe what you want about more testing means more cases, but the fact is there are more critically ill people with COVID who are dying. People who choose not to wear a mask in public are basically saying "screw you" to everyone else. We know there are asymptomatic carriers...it could be you. Why not do your part to protect others from the possibility you could contaminate others? When I wear a mask, its more for others than it is for myself. Sadly, this altruistic gesture is seen as a sign of weakness by those who think the virus is "over rated" or "blown out of proportion". You can't argue facts: the number of cases has gone up, and the number of critically ill patients and deaths has gone up. The virus is winning. Those who choose to do nothing are not on our country's side, their on the side of the virus.
Dear Nemo, you think Trump has done a good job when Americans are banned from traveling to almost any other country? Tell me one thing Trump did right...except for banning travel from China.
US has ~ 4% of the worlds population and 26% of the world's covid cases with Trump at the lead. What is so hard to understand about his total incompetence?
