I saw a film on TV of a monkey in the wild who had been (they think) caught in multiple snares and was missing its two hind legs and one arm. Somehow this bastard survived by hopping on its remaining arm on the ground and in the trees the other monkey's carried it on their backs. It was deduced by the experts that this poor bastard was the offspring of an alpha female and the "aunts" made sure that it lived.
