Check out "Ruin Bars" in Budapest. It's an underground bar scene where people open bars in ruins from WWII (some more currently abandoned). BUt they do not change the building in any way other than putting old furniture in and hanging some lights, art and booze. They are extremely cool looking to me and I now have a goal of going to one.
