About Me

My photo
I'm an artist, educator, militant anti-theist , and I write. I gamble on just about anything. And I like beer...but I love my wife. This blog contains observations from a funny old man who gets pissed off every once in a while.

SOCIAL COMMENTARY FOR ALL AGES

Lives are made to be shared. I say he must have a hobby to keep from going insane in his parents' basement.
^^1^^

Speaking of hobbies...
I had a friend that decided to make his own boat. It looked very much like the one above.
 ^^2^^

This man just became a citizen of the USA.
Think of that. He is now an American not by an accident of birth, but as a result of long years of struggle.
^^3^^

I don't see how you are not embarrassed by Trump's childish behavior even if you agree with his policies.
Let's take his school records for example. Trump's lawyers threatened each of his schools with massive lawsuits if they released his records. Why would anybody do such a thing?
Well, here is one slant on an explanation:
Trump has repeatedly claimed that he graduated ‘first in his class’ from the Wharton School at Penn. In fact, he wasn’t close—Trump graduated without honors. Some schools base honors on GPA percentile, but Wharton bases them simply on GPA, which means that in order to graduate without honors, his GPA had to have been less than a 3.40—or else that he was sanctioned for academic integrity or student conduct violations. What’s interesting about this is that it’s not the GPA itself, but the lie, that Trump may have been concerned about. Trump’s college GPA wasn’t a big deal until he made it a big deal by speculating about Obama’s GPA, lying about his own records and threatening his schools if they released them.

So, Mr. Irate Trump Supporter, why do you think he forbids the release of his school records? This is, after all, the president of the United States. People will dissect his entire life in history books. Why wait for history. Why not now?

I've tried to watch the new season, but alas, I had to give up.

23-year-old Loyce Edward Deen, was a gunner on a TBM Avenger.

On November 5, 1944, Deen's squadron participated in a raid on Manila where his plane was hit multiple times by anti-aircraft fire while attacking a Japanese cruiser. Deen was killed. The Avenger's pilot, Lt Robert Cosgrove, managed to return to his carrier, the USS Essex. Both Deen and the plane had been shot up so badly that it was decided to leave him in it.

It is the only time in U.S. Navy history that an aviator was purposely buried in his aircraft after being killed in action.
^^7^^

What an interesting question.
^^8^^

I'm trying to quit again. For a couple of weeks, I only have a couple before and after dinner.
^^9^^

My first wife and I took our two daughters to Walt Disney World when they were about 6 years old. It was about 105 degrees but I was used to it from painting outdoor murals all summer. I think I was the only person in the park to have a good time. I heard dozens of parents fussing at children in every language on the planet.

The nurse at the sperm bank asked me if I'd like to masturbate in the cup. I said, "Well, I'm pretty good but I don't think I'm ready to compete just yet.

I going to assume that with careful husbandry sheep have been developed with much more wool than in the wild.

I've seen a half dozen documentaries on shipbuilding yet I'm still in awe of images like that.

I think they ought to add that to the Olympics. We Americans would kick some ass.

Add a couple of more felonies to his rap sheet.

First, he presses the dough against the oven walls with the back of his hands, then he builds a first.
When done he pries them off into a pan.

God, I love bread and that bread looks exceptionally good.

That guy was scared beyond.......be-leaf.

I'm one of the few guys who hate to see wrecks on a race track. That looks like all those drivers ignored the warning flags in the bottom right.

Be honest, have you ever seen an American work that quickly?

“Not today, Satan.”
That is not their first rodeo.

Actually...

In the United States, there are approximately 1500 methadone clinics that are federally certified opioid treatment programs.[4] There are generally two types of methadone clinics, public and private. The public clinics are generally cheaper to attend. However, there is usually a waiting list due to limited funding. The private clinics are more expensive to attend but usually have either a short or no waiting list. In many parts of the United States, methadone clinics are few and far between, which presents problems for addicts seeking methadone treatment who live far from a clinic. (wikipedia)
