About Me

My photo
I'm an artist, educator, militant anti-theist , and I write. I gamble on just about anything. And I like beer...but I love my wife. This blog contains observations from a funny old man who gets pissed off every once in a while.

ITEMS DIFFICULT BUT NOT IMPOSSIBLE TO EXPLAIN

Due to the crowd of spectators, I think this is just a demonstration and not a rescue...unless that's some kind of clown car.

Halfway through a face transplant operation.
This is not it.

It was stated that this was manufactured in eastern Europe and they of all people should know better.

Dancing seems to be a worldwide phenomenon...

Even without barriers the British still know how to queue.

"We have always done it that way," can have negative and positive outcomes.
Lining up orderly is a plus, but this next tradition has outlived its usefulness...

Utility worker almost hit by high power line...
Edison warned us about that.

I say it's the vest guy's fault for giving a gun to someone who obviously doesn't know how to use it.
^^9^^

It's from a movie, of course.

Trapped like a rat...
Ladies, we men are hardwired for this kind of thing.

I'm going to say the mouse got there the same way he got out.

I'm thinking they are kept inside at night to protect them from either cold weather or predators or both and it's dawn.

I bet that sign increases his tips tenfold.

How do you decide that is something you want to learn to do?

My doctor wants me to take a stress test. I should pass with flying colors. I've been studying for this my whole life.

INFORMATION OF WHICH YOU MAY BE UNAWARE

Firefighters call airdrops "CNN Drops" because they're often useless, but politicians order them in order to produce a TV-friendly spectacle that reassures voters that Something is Being Done.

In February 2018, Denmark's Ministry of Environment and Food published its Life Cycle Assessment of grocery carrier bags, which looked at the overall embodied energy, materials and labor in different grocery bags, and also evaluated the environmental impacts of different kinds of plastic bags.
Their conclusion was that single-use, flimsy disposable plastic bags are the best option in terms of environmental and climate costs. However, the Ministry's analysis did not factor in marine life impacts of these bags, which are severe

He went to the bank to get change for the restaurant and found 38 Star Dollars in sequential order. Unbelievable.

YOUTH AND OLD AGE

We all know that with luck we will grow old before we die.

There are obvious differences between the old and the young...

But most of us forget that youth is the period in your life where you are SUPPOSED to make mistakes.

I call it learning the physics of the world and accidents are powerful lessons.

An excellent example:
What Happens To This Young Man?
 A. The bus finally stops and lets him in.
B. He is hit by a car.
C. He writhes on the ground weeping.
D. The bus runs over him.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
 C. He writhes on the ground weeping.
 Fool.

Speaking of regrets...
Is that a gun in the fleeing felon's hand?

When it comes to chainsaws, the old and the young are equally stupid...

Did you notice that the tree barely missed her head? That's why lumberjacks run like hell.

Young people's interaction can be more physical without fear of breaking a hip...

Old people have to be much more gentle with one another.
