I found these charts disturbing.

WIC (women, infant, children) is a US government program to help with low-income pregnant women, infant & children nutrition.

I drove around yesterday and was amazed at how many people were out and about. In 5 Points there weren't any parking places.
Do these people listen to the same news that I do?
Jesus Fucking Christ. Such stupidity saddens me.

The U.K. is treating the situation in a casual manner. Yet, France and Spain were like the UK just 10 days ago making fun of Italy because of its situation with Covid19.
As I understand it the Brits want to infect 70% of the population now to get herd immunity.

OBJECTS I DEEM FASCINATING
Rotoped Walking Wheel.
Developed at Czechoslovakia's Motor Car Research Institute from an 18-inch-long model built to prove the principle (PS, July '64), the seven-foot Rotoped has wheels that rely on gravity rather than friction for traction. As no torque is applied to them, they won't spin or dig in on sand, mud, or ice. If one bounces off the surface on a bump, it just stops turning, then starts driving again as soon as it hits the ground.
Bypassing friction. Run by compressed air, the self-propelled wheel has many other advantages. The usual mechanical transmission is completely eliminated, together with its bulk, weight, and frictional losses.
All-wheel drive is easy, differential action is automatic, and all wheels can be steered for exceptional maneuverability. Rolling resistance is very small, and ground pressure is low, due to the large contact area.

The length of the submarine is 173 meters! It’s like a 50-story building sailing under the water!
These are special compartments for the ballistic missiles R-39.
One missile like that weighs 90 tons, its height is more than 17 meters.
The submarine has 20 vertical missile tubes like these.

Mars is prone to massive dust storms, some of which are global. Those storms lay down the layer of brighter material, and lesser wind events like dust devils remove it, leaving the tell-tale dark streaks.

Kyūjutsu (弓術) ("art of archery") is a martial art practiced by the samurai of feudal Japan. Here is a demonstration of the battlefield tactics of the Heki Ryu school. Every other man shoots and moves forward, then the other half does the same thing, thus keeping more or less constant fire on the enemy.

An observation on the coronavirus which really bothers me. I can look at just about any country and see a trend that does not fit with what we see in China. Everyone seems to be looking at the total number of cases vs. deaths. I am looking at total number of "closed" cases. A closed case means you either recovered or you died.
In Germany, 21% of Closed cases resulted in Death.
In Italy, 43% of Closed cases resulted in Death.
Spain - 37% of Closed cases resulted in Death.
France - 30% of Closed cases resulted in Death.
Iran - 17% of Closed cases resulted in Death.
UK - 62% of Closed cases resulted in Death.
Oddly, South Korea and China each roll in at only 4% of Closed cases resulting in Death. South Korea has fewer "total cases" than any of the countries above except for the UK. Weird to me.
The numbers don't lie.

They update their sites at different times of the day, but in general they are both in sync. The second site is published by John Hopkins.
I'm no medical expert, but I do have a degree in mathematics. The numbers speak.

Puzzle Time = Dual Monitors
Just so happens I lead a team called "Team Komodo". The Komodo Monitor is our logo.
The seasonal flu has a death rate of about 0.1%. COVID-19 is around 1-3%. The fact that it is more virulent (how many people get infected from a single individual) and more deadly, it is very concerning. Another factor is that COVID can incubate much longer without symptoms which is why its more likely to unknowingly transmit the disease to someone else.
Regarding "recovered"...I'm not sure if "not recovered" means death. It could mean the disease is still active (patient still in hospital) and the case is not yet resolved (either in recovery or death).
A Closed case is a case that has an outcome. I wish there was a way to upload an image. Below is a text-based screen grab taken at 4:45 CT for the U.S.
CLOSED CASES
362
Cases which had an outcome:
125 (35%)
Recovered / Discharged
237 (65%)
Deaths
regarding the comment on the numbers that "don't lie":
I can only speak for Germany and partly for Italy, though.
In Germany only a part of the closed cases gets registered. people dying of CoVid-19 are registered, however, people recovering are only in part registered by the authorities. Of course the ratio is different to South Korea where both parts are registered. Moreover, if in Germany a person dies which was not tested on CoVid-19 it will NOT be tested post mortem and therefore not be registered as a casualty.
This is different in Italy. A lot less tests carried out in general on living people but every suspicious death is tested post mortem leading to a much higher death ratio.
To compare numbers you have to be sure that they are measured in a comparable way.
