About Me

I'm an artist, educator, militant anti-theist , and I write. I gamble on just about anything. And I like beer...but I love my wife. This blog contains observations from a funny old man who gets pissed off every once in a while.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT

As I understand it, a judge should recuse themself to maintain OUR trust in the judicial system. So far Thomas has failed miserably.

Yes, I smell a rat.

SOURCE

I listened to Fox News last night. Within the first fifteen minutes, I heard"

1. Democrats want open borders where anyone can just walk in.

2. Democrats want to defund the police.

3. Democrats are all Communists.

All three of those are blatant, provable lies but their listeners don't care.

^^A2^^

It's like the troll that keeps leaving anti-science comments like: The vaccines were tested on only 8 rats and no humans.

There is no way to reason with such a person because they abandoned reason a long time ago.

HUMAN INGENUITY

Epic pre-picture picture

I have been around advertising enough to know that every detail matters - whether a button is buttoned or left unbuttoned, the length of the pants, the luster on the shoes, or whether or not to wear shoes.

^^B1^^

There was a man who invented a prison bar that was impossible to see through even with the sharpest hacksaw. His bars were hollow pipes inside of which was a free-floating iron rod. Once the saw reached the rod it would just rotate thus foiling the attempt.

^^B2^^

Remember this?

I used to wonder - considering the body's relative frailty - why it wasn't crushed. Then I noticed that the clamp is on the motor mounts which one would assume is the strongest point on the fuselage.

^^B4^^

The first rule of advertising is to get noticed.

^^B5^^

I would think a winning strategy would be to slow down when attempting to hammer. No matter how fast you are, if you miss the nail all is for naught.

^^B6^^

That was probably exciting to watch the first 10,000 times we saw it performed.

^^B7^^

I would make a list of every product advertised in my sky and NEVER buy a single one of them.

^^B9^^

Pottery will certainly teach you how to live with disappointment. Those all seem the result of using clay that had too much water.

Jerusalem crickets are a group of large, flightless insects in the genera Ammopelmatus and Stenopelmatus, together comprising the tribe Stenopelmatini. The former genus is native to the western United States and parts of Mexico, while the latter genus is from Central America.

Puzzle. Time: as a master naturalist, I would have to say that is a swallows' nest.

Odd to be in the middle of downtown area, so I'm guessing they're trying to entice the birds to nest here rather than somewhere else.

I also want to point out the cat/ squirrel barrier near the bottom of the pillar.

See that red thing running vertically in the back of the stairwell. That is a sprinkler riser. They are generally installed in stairwells like that.

For some reason the pipe broke. Most likely froze and split the pipe. Then warmed up and the water started to flow. It should have activated the fire alarm but most of the building staff don't know where the shut off valves are and water just flows until someone that knows where the valve is to shut it off.

If you look under the eaves of the roof there is a row of grey structures that look like nest boxes for swifts or house martins.

Actually, that "troll" was right: the data that Pfizer provided to the FDA to get approval for the new bivalent vaccine was tested on only 8 mice and no humans. I think you owe your alert and informed reader an apology.

As Eric Topol of the Scripps Institute noted about that admittedly alarming fact, "Each year the flu vaccine quadrivalent program is updated using mice data, so there’s certainly a precedent for using such data. The totality of data being used to justify going ahead without specific BA.5 neutralization evidence in people stems from both experience with flu vaccines, human data from BA.1 (reviewed above) and a clinical trial with the Beta variant that assessed immune response."

https://erictopol.substack.com/p/the-imminent-ba5-vaccine-booster

That said, he himself held off on getting the new bivalent vaccine, as did I, until many eager humans had done so without obvious harm. I do now plan to get the new booster shot for myself and my child, but I am not optimistic that it will offer much protection from the new highly divergent variants like BQ1.1 and BX which are now showing a doubling time in the US of just 10 days -- note that these variants are also unresponsive to all monoclonal antibody treatments. As since the start of the pandemic, the best protection is a well fitting N95 mask like the 3M Aura, which I wear anytime I am indoors in a public space.

A1 I think Thomas hates Biden, I don't blame him. Biden was a dick to an innocent man. I'm sure you remember the whole scandal was to make sure a black man wasn't put on the supreme Court

He never said they would be hunted. Did you not read the source ? He used a turn of phrase, "the hunters become the hunted".

A3
Then why were we told to "follow the science?" Why did Great Barrington scientists get cancelled ?
But the "troll" is technically correct re the B5 bivalent vaccines https://www.fda.gov/media/159496/download

A5
A quick scan of wikipedia will show you that this is false
