Imagine not knowing anything about writing music but you can appreciate it when the sounds are put together beautifully. Similarly, paintings that are put together beautifully appeal to us even though you may not know why. One of my favorite tricks for creating harmony in a motif is the use of what I call "sympathetic angles". These two paintings have dozens of examples of sympathetic angles.  In the painting above the lady's arm could have been at any angle but the artist positioned it to match the wrought iron in not one place, but three. The same arm is at the same angle as the bottom of her leg. The man's arm lines up with the woman's upper arm as does the shadow in the upper left and the bush in the middle right.

Now spend a few minutes finding sympathetic angles in the next painting.

I think young people could make a lot of money offering their services to help people like me navigate my computer. For instance, I want to set my default font for my blog but don't know how. Now I have to set font style, size, and color every time I write something.

Speaking of...

This 'Daredevil Stone' was recently demolished after tourists kept taking photos on its edge.  The rock protrusion, located in Anyang City, stuck out over a dangerously steep cliff. One wrong move while standing on it, and you'd be toast. It makes my palms sweat just to watch people stand or even dangle their feet off of it for a snapshot.
