When the railroad companies switched to electronic devices on the rear of the last car to switch track, etc, there were thousands upon thousands of cabooses there were to be turned into scrap metal. You could buy one for just a few dollar more than scrap rates and some men in my city did just that, then they ringed the stadium with them and rented them out for tailgate parties and made a fortune.
When the caboose supply dried up, they bought other obsolete cars and now everywhere you look within two miles of the stadium you can spot one.
I think what made that possible was the fact that the stadium is in an industrial area with a shitload of preexisting rail lines.

But there is this one…the longevity champion, despite being in a heavily pedestrian area on a busy street.
I credit its survival on several factors. First, it is the second installation in the exact same spot. But it is in an area of rather fluent apartments. I think (or like to think) that the first packet was taken out of curiosity and found to be interesting enough to share around the pool with his fellow apartment dwellers. Their curiosity sated and they simply didn’t need the money. Works for me.

CDC Releases US Death Statistics, Liberal
Media Not Thrilled:
Car accidents? 33,000
Accidental poisonings? 38,000
Accidental gun deaths? 505
No one’s saying guns are good or bad, all
this report is saying is that maybe its time the media stops using accidental
gun deaths as a flagpole for their argument against gun ownership.

SEIZING AN OPPORTUNITY

They are called a Cock-a-boos.

I keep an eye on some of my
older installations.
Some are left unmolested due
to the fact that there is little to no pedestrian traffic.
Other’s because they are in the middle of nowhere.

Is it murder or suicide? You
decide.
It was deduced that it was
murder because she was shot in the left side of the head, but the gun is in her
right hand. But couldn't she have just turned away from the mirror prior to the deed?>
Remember this?
My local DMV used to be a
nightmare. You wait in a line for an hour only to be told you are in the wrong
line. Then you wait in the correct line only to be told you lack one piece of
paperwork. This happened over and over.
Then they did something very
smart. They set up a little counter at the entrance where you told the lady
what you wanted to do. She quickly checks your paperwork and you are sent to
the correct location. Now most people are in and out within 20 minutes.

I once wrote about seeing one

Marijuana replacing drugs...yes it is true that it can have a therapeutic effect similar to many of the drugs listed...anti-anxiety (Xanax), analgesic (Vicodin), hypnotic (Ambien), antidepressant (Zoloft). I would argue against ADHD (Adderall). It has also been shown to have anti-seizure and antispasmodic effects. Clinical trial data is not conclusive for these.
However, the main problem is "dosing". How would you dose it for antidepressant use but keep from getting tired? Same thing with anxiety. given the variability in potency from one batch to the next as well as from one "strain" to another, dosing would be a major issue. Another problem is safety. While we have a lot of anecdotal evidence that marijuana is relatively safe, it is not know what the long term effects are when used therapeutically as a drug...again..clinical trials need to do some catching up.
Interestingly, the central nervous system as well as immune cells and other tissues are rather abundant in cannabinoid receptors...CB1, CB2, etc. Synthetic drugs that affect these receptors have been under investigation for quite some time, ones that activate the receptor as well as ones which inactivate (antagonize) the receptor. I believe there was an antagonist in development for obesity (makes sense right?...smoking pot causes the munchies...block the body's ability to activate the receptors may decrease hunger).
In summary, its a area of research that is under intense investigation. While there is some benefit to smoking it, the dosing is a major problem for most disease states. some extracts of marijuana, such as cannabidiol, are being produced in known concentrations for reliable dosing. this may be the direction things are heading.
Thank you very much for that information. See you soon.
