A recent analysis of core samples taken from Greenland’s ice sheet shows that levels of a common form of air pollution have dropped almost to preindustrial levels.
But not so good on CO2...

From CNN:
Context –a “puck” is what they call the cookie sized gold object.
An employee at the Royal Canadian Mint is accused of smuggling $180K worth of gold in his rectum.
"...the trial was presented with the prospect that a puck could be concealed in an anal cavity and not be detected by the wand. In preparation for these proceedings, in fact, a security employee actually tested the idea..."
…. Drum roll please …..
The judge presiding over the case is Justice Peter Doody.

From Snowden: "Without the information to start a public debate, we're lost. You know, the people being able to question our government and hold it accountable - that's the principle that the United States of America was founded on. If we want to protect our national security, we should be protecting that principle."

A single tumbleweed crossing your path is already a telltale sign that something is about to go down. So what about when hundreds of tumbleweeds getting blown every which way right in front of you? Yeah, that’s when you know the world is about to end. There’s no other acceptable explanation.

LET'S TALK ABOUT ME and GUNS
I have had guns since I was 12 years old.
I was taught how to use them correctly in such a way that the lessons have never left me.
I still get a warm feeling when I see new products like this...
And I am of the opinion that there is no such thing as a bullet that is too big.
I actually feel physically vulnerable when I don't have my guns with me.
I do drink daily, but I haven't actually been drunk in a long, long time...
I used to love to travel back roads across America.
That photo is rather special in that that sign post with the adjacent pull off area would surely have had one of my installations.
And, of course, religion simultaneously terrifies and amuses me.
Moving on...

I spend many hours thinking about things that never occur to most people. Consider this image:
My first thought was the first person who went to their across the street neighbor with the idea of placing two pulleys, one on each building, so they could hang their clothes as illustrated above. We don't even know their name, but he or she changed many lives for the better.
And how long do you think it took for people all over the city to steal that wonderful idea? A week?

I bet this is actually excellent training for hose control.
That actually impresses me.

This is an example of what I would like to be aimed with that helmet they use in that helicopter.

A fortnight ago my wife was in a snit all day because the battery on her toothbrush ran out and she had to "move her arm like in the Stone Age."
I have waited two weeks to post about it just so I could use the word fortnight.

PHOTOGRAPHY
Couldn't get this photographer's name...
I like this image because all the shirts seem identical...must be a story in that.
But then I noticed something else. There are two pulleys on each side of that window. Sooooooo, that person I mentioned above probably didn't have to mount any pulleys, they just had to run a longer rope across the street, since both of them probably had pre-existing pulleys of their own.
You think they placed the sculpture there just for that effect?
And I ran across a picture of a cat that I can tolerate.

Is this one of those women who cover her nipples so that she won't be raped?
How about this woman?
And is the girl on the left less likely to be raped than the girl on the right because of her awesome nipple game?

Zumwalt was activated today. Only needs 147 people.
The most sophisticated destroyer on the planet. The lack of wake is amazing...and here's one reason why.
It was stated that this is some high-tech stuff.

Non-Newtonian Fluid - Cornstarch and Water
I've shown you how the stuff works when it fills a swimming pool, but none of us are going to make that much of it...for many reasons.
So, if you have kids, just pour a single bowlful in a ballon or two, then throw them up in the air and see what happens.
This guy dropped this one off a five story building and you see what happened to his.
Nothing. Nothing happened.

Regarding your comment about nipples and rape, I've thought about that a lot since I last wrote a comment saying, I wear a bra so that I don't attract the kind of attention that leads to rape. Because I know damned well that how I dress isn't really the point (weak pun fully intended). I wear a bra because of things my mother told me, that I never bothered to examine. That's the truth.
I have thought about this general idea often since the last time I commented here. I used to pride myself on how well I had seen through many of society's conventions, but I wonder now how many things I have accepted as truth that were merely unexamined.
Beautifully put, my dear. It (examining) has been my life long quest.
