Seeing this in the news a lot lately. Just so everyone's clear: Homicide means "death died due to the actions of another human". That's all it means. It doesn't mean "murder".
If someone breaks into your house and is about to kill you with a machete and you shoot them, that's homicide. Homicide is a *cause of death*, not a crime.
The overly-sensationalized news feeds love to say anything that'll get people riled up. They report on this ruling as if to imply a cop was charged with murder. But all it means is that the coroner looked at the body and concluded the death was due to the bullets in there.
