About Me

My photo
I'm an artist, educator, militant anti-theist , and I write. I gamble on just about anything. And I like beer...but I love my wife. This blog contains observations from a funny old man who gets pissed off every once in a while.

THURSDAY #2041

As promised, more soccer posts...
As an American, I can't laugh at Brazil because the only reason Germany didn't do the same thing to us was because of Tim Howard.
Then today I lost a fortune on this game...

 Germans watching the game...
And it really was posted to Pornhub...
That pitiful old man gave his plastic trophy to a German fan...

 Sad stuff really...

We’ve been telling you for years that the only smallpox left in the world were two laboratory repositories, one in Russia and the other at the Center for Disease Control in Atlanta. We’ve even discussed the possibility of destroying those two stashes. But last week, a scientist cleaning out a room in Washington stumbled upon a cardboard box containing six glass vials of variola virus (smallpox) samples that had been there who-knows-how long.

When you have exhausted all possibilities, remember this: You haven’t.

Do we really need this?

Are you Canadians still mad that we stole Shatner?

Cake decorating instructions gone wrong...

The Walk of Shame; Level - Expert....

I have been looking for one of these for a long time....
I'm a leather guy and that nylon computer bag I have now is a piece of shit.

What a wonderful idea...

Stuff I don't have to worry about....yet....

This happened to me in a rental unit one time. It tells me two things, there is a water leak upstairs...
...and the ceiling is painted with a very high quality paint.

If no other option I would probably do something like that...
 ...but not on the interstate.

One Of My Very Own...

Photographer Turns the Then & Now Trend on Its Head, Holds Up Photos of the ‘Future’...

There are two sorts of people to avoid at all costs – serial killers and women who spell “Thanks” with an “x”.

That awkward moment when your phone falls in your Smoothie and you cry and people stare and point at you.

Why can't we vote for the President on our laptops at home totally naked?

Exoskeleton, "Rewalk". First to be approved by FDA.

OOMVO...

What must foreigners think...

Relax, nothing is under control.

I think whether you read that as "need a person" or "used a person" says a lot about you.

A new meme is born...

I don't want to be alone...I want to be LEFT alone.

 Life will find a way...

Nobody’s nobody’s bitch.

A few months after implants there was normal menstrual flow and the ability to have sex.

But the USA is not the sole destination for desperate people...
People-smugglers are paid $1,600 to board a boat packed with more than 300 people who want to traverse the Mediterranean en route to Europe.

Kind of hard to read, but this explains who is going where...
Now go back and look at the huge number of Africans who simply relocate to another part of Africa.

Reconstructing Stonehenge...

There’s a fine line between crazy and free spirited and it’s usually a prescription.

Another place I will never visit...
Concrete or stone?

Nick Hanauer, a hereditary millionaire who increased the family fortune with some shrewd early dotcom inventions has written an open letter to his fellow "zillionaires" warning that their corruption of the US political system has given rise to an unstable situation of wealth inequality that has turned their potential customers into impoverished pitchfork-wielding revolutionaries who are coming for their heads.

And...
The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development -- a pro-establishment, rock-ribbed bastion of pro-market thinking -- has released a report predicting a collapse in global economic growth rates, a rise in feudal wealth disparity, collapsing tax revenue and huge, migrating bands of migrant laborers roaming from country to country, seeking crumbs of work.

These folks completed a Kickstarter earlier this year. They ain't cheap, but what they are is handmade here in US with a lot of quality and attention to detail.

Thanks! I looked at the one I liked and it's not big enough for my 17" Mac...but I will keep looking. And don't worry about the price...my wife makes a lot of money.
