"Wars" are rather easily "won" by the only remaining Super Power.

We seem to be able to destroy tanks, down airplanes, blow up headquarters and sink ships at will.

But then we don't leave. We try to make things all better.

We didn't leave Germany. We didn't leave Japan. And now we are nation building in a place where no nation has been before.

There were many humorous images coming out of these wars...and I've shared many...

And some extraordinary images. "Suck it up men, this lady can drive that thing as well as you."

But now...well, the sign says it all...

The last combat troops have left Iraq...a nation, maybe, but a nation without a government at the moment.

The ramifications of multiple extended tours takes it toll...

And how soon we forget....

I admire every single one of them. No matter how you feel about the war(s), those young people are doing our bidding. We owe them.

And now the only "one of my very own" in the vault concerning this post's subject...
